For this year's current NBA season:

Tyler Hansbrough & Tyler Zeller combined rebounds per game average = 3.0

J.J. Redick & Austin Rivers combined rebounds per game average = 3.1

Mason Plumlee averages more rebounds per game than any former UNC player.

Jahlil Okafor averages more rebounds AND points per game than any former UNC player.

UNC has 3 former players averaging 8 or more points per game.. Duke has 7 former players averaging 8 or more points per game (not counting Kyrie Irving & Mike Dunleavy, both of which have not played this year due to injury, both would be averaging 8+ ppg)

Lance Thomas is averaging more POINTS per game than Tyler Zeller, Tyler Hansbrough, Reggie Bullock, P.J. Hairston, Vince Carter, Ed Davis, Wayne Ellington, Danny Green, John Henson, Ty Lawson, or Brandan Wright.

Mason Plumlee averages more ASSISTS per game than any non-PG former UNC player.

Sean May has not been on an NBA roster in over 5 years.

Sean May has 821 total NBA career points and J.J. Redick has 902... MADE 3-point shots in his NBA career.

This is my favorite part.

That's only because K has contacted all of the former UNC players' coaches and forced them to minimize their playing time. K can do that because he controls USA basketball. He does it because he is a rat-faced egomaniac. It's all about him. Plus he curses a lot. He's a modern-day Hitler. 'Nuff said.

As with anything, the cachet of MJ lessens with each passing year. This generation is probably the first one who did not grow up watching him, and they identify/idolize other players. It not like players are going to Kansas because Chamberlain went there, or UCLA because of Jabbar, or even more recently, Wake because of Duncan or LSU because of Shaq. Time passes.

The exception to that rule I think might be Magic at MSU. I think he is still a draw for them because he is so involved and active with their program, more so than really any former superstar of that generation at any school it seems.

I remember that guy. The kind of person that "Skyped" his answer on ESPN. Glad we didn't get that great guy.

You mean the high character guy who said, "coach save #40 for me" and then turned his back on him without even a phone call to let him know before his skype conference?
