He’s damn sure more capable! At this point has anyone reached out to DT to see if he wants to coach football too?
Agreed. Not much to be gained. Though disgruntled football fans may enjoy some winning in the wrestling world… bring your friends to a dual this season!! Teach them the scoring! Great opportunity to get some converts....collectively we are going to shout ourselves deaf on this subject...................best to all...........rs
Football season is over. Maybe we could pack BP for dodgeball matches?Agreed. Not much to be gained. Though disgruntled football fans may enjoy some winning in the wrestling world… bring your friends to a dual this season!! Teach them the scoring! Great opportunity to get some converts.

Actually, it would be pretty sweet to let the season end and host a surprise dual at BPS.Football season is over. Maybe we could pack BP for dodgeball matches?![]()
His buyout is 15 million not sure how a school pays that now with rev share being a thingActually, it would be pretty sweet to let the season end and host a surprise dual at BPS.
I’ll bet we put more fans in than Gundy. Our Admin/AD is going to screw up the firing, so that moron will be here until the end of the season and I doubt we have any sizable crowds.
Well, evidently, he had already alienated several significant donors then he doubled down last season by calling the fanbase poor. His buyout is 15 million not sure how a school pays that now with rev share being a thing
I think every P4 program has (or better have) a donor or combination of a few donors that can kick in that kind of money when times get desperate. These are really desperate times for OSU football because it isn’t just about the wins/losses from week-to-week. It is about trying to salvage the reputation OSU has had in recent history as a top 15-20 program (because that should always be important) so we stay in good position for the next big realignment move. I hope not firing him in December 2024 doesn’t prove fatal now. The $15 million likely could save hundreds of millions in future revenue to share with the athletes which could be lost if OSU is left out of a 2 mega conference realignment, for example. All programs, including wrestling, are relying on the administration, board of regents, and donors getting this right. His buyout is 15 million not sure how a school pays that now with rev share being a thing

Yep football pays all the bills so they've to pay 15 million to fire him and hope the next guy turns it around or all sports at Oklahoma st will suffer. College sports is a messI think every P4 program has (or better have) a donor or combination of a few donors that can kick in that kind of money when times get desperate. I think they’re gonna hold off on canning Gundy for a couple of reasons.Actually, it would be pretty sweet to let the season end and host a surprise dual at BPS.

I think they’re gonna hold off on canning Gundy for a couple of reasons.
1. For lack of a better way to put it is that he’s earned it. He’s built OSU football into what it is (was?), and the ROI on firing him midseason is non existent as I’ll state here next.
2. The moment you fire him, the transfer portal immediately opens and you face the possibility of a midseason exodus that makes an awful roster even worse. Wait to fire him until the winter portal window opens and you’re only dealing with 1 exodus period with the chance that the new guy can talk some into staying while also having a chance to pull guys out himself.
3. They can’t hire anyone until the season is over, and as far as I know there’s no rule against contacting possible hires or their angents ahead of time (up to a point). You gain nothing during midseason.
4. Which of the assclown assistants do you trust to see the rest of the season through? Bobby Petrino ain’t on staff! Donors can hem and haw that they won’t donate their promised money unless he’s fired midseason but that tune changes if the next AD makes an inspiring hire (I really like the idea of Klein, A&M’s OC).
5. We don’t have an AD. Weiberg is apparently going to be out sooner rather than later. You need someone in the head role with a vested long term interest and vision for this hire before you even THINK about making a move.
These are merely the ramblings of a man putting off doing work, so take them for what you will. I have no sources inside the department but that’s just how I see where we’re at right now.
Aww aint this cute, lolHe should give the buyout back to the football program. That would help the program, salvage his rep locally, and just show a ton of goodwill towards the community. The man surely has enough socked away for his family to live comfortably off of dividends that he doesn't need 15 more millions.
I live cute, bro. Sunshine and rainbows for lifeAww aint this cute, lol
It will most likely come from outside the university and athletic department. The 15 million isn't gonna come from thin air so it will hurt all the sports
