Just to be clear about my problem w/ the Fb douche

My issue is the Mississippi State FB page isn't a forum for State fans to trash one of their own. It's a "rah rah" type of thing where the team posts pics and information to fire up the fan base. They post a simple pic of our starting QB throwing a pass and the third comment under it is this ******* who states "I'm a huge state fan, but Tyler blows" (a gross simplification of the comment but still). There are forums and outlets for this jack *** to ***** and moan... The team FB page shouldn't be one of them. Same goes for the haircut comments from the other pic. Some of our fans need to realize that this isn't the 17ing '50's... We're trying to coax top recruits to come play for us. You do this by accepting them, not acting like you just had your first beer and going on rants about perceived flaws. For 17 sake... This guy could quite possibly be the next big thing at State.


That was the point of my posting the FB pics.

Totally agree. I think you're seeing a bit of a generation gap as much as anything. The guy today looked to be 50+ years old that made the comment you're referring to. Some members of that generation don't quite understand how public online forums (MB, FB, Twitter) really are. That guy said it in like he was having a beer with his buddies, probably didn't register with him that MSU fans all over the South were going to see it.

I guess you have the wrong site. Don't you know this is where we coddle all other SEC fans, especially TUSK, and degrade all things that are MState. Seriously, I'm not sure of the intent of the post. But those posters on FB are ridiculous, and I would hope everybody on this board, and those that give a **** about MSU would a agree with you. It's a GD shame that I am right about Facebook. I hated deleting that MF'R but it was necessary. There are simply too many dumbasses out there to deal with.

I'm with Stratdawg-- he's was just opining and had no idea FB is such an open mic. Hell-- he's sitting up there in 98 degree heat supporting the team, which is more than I'm doing. I'm cutting the guy some slack. Really, guys-- he's a fan bullsh*ting what he thinks he's seeing. No need to have two threads to vilify him. I'd bet if he read this it would kill him. Russell has heard boos from thousands of fans. He's a big boy--he'll be aight. Don't kill this fan just for this. Just saying.

I think the point of the threads (3 by my count) vilifying him is that hopefully it can get back to him so he can realize that wasn't the best forum for his comments, which weren't all that bad-just in the wrong place. It was better discussed here than getting into a comment flame war with him on MSU Football's FB page. I'm on the fence about whether message boards sway or dissuade recruits, but in the realm of social media (ie, Twitter, Fb, Instagram, the other ones I haven't heard of) the impact appears to be more instantaneous for it's the lifeblood of teen existence.

I LOVE MSU, but not a big fan of Jerry Younger... If the message boards get to him & they put a good hit on him, he gets gun shy .. He'll start posting on Facebook less & that's the game ... I hope he proves me wrong this year, but I doubt it !!!!
