...unless they beat Florida and win the SEC tourney, I think the Rebels will miss the NCAA.

Reasons why:

1. Committee has shown over and over again that the field is pretty much set before conference tourneys and Rebs were outside looking in before then
2. They have the 127th toughest schedule in the country (behind USM who played the 89th best schedule)
3. They are only 51st in RPI (behind #29 USM who is allegedly out)
4. They lost to us and USCe. Those losses hurt more than any of the following wins helped.
5. Speaking of wins, they don't have any good ones.
6. The selection committee wants to jump up in Henderson's face and yell "17 you, enjoy the NIT" when they don't make it.

I think they're in. It doesn't bother me. It shouldn't bother any State fans or alumni. It has nothing to do with us..thx.

Having been recently on the bubble with similar circumstances, I think they're left out. Our RPI may not have been as good as theirs is this year, but in the last few years, winning a few SECT games has done NOTHING for SEC teams on the bubble. Plus, the committee likes to throw in more left-field selections these days.

You're right but the SEC doesn't have many qualifiers this year. I think they go. UK seems to have blown it ... if they get in it'll be because they're UK and not because they have a deserving team.

Both USM and UM deserve to be in. All the pundits say Rebs in, Eagles out. RPI for Rebs is 50...USM is 29. Go figure.

There are probably 100 teams in the country that would have the record Ole Miss has if they played the same schedule. They will make the tourney but it is mostly because of the easy schedule and the fact that Henderson got them some publicity.
