Just when you want to run Randy off, he delivers a big shot.

we need to develop another big man. Jarvis will only have one season left (he would be stupid to go pro after this year) and with only losing BJ, the sky is the limit next year. Randy would make a good 6th man.

Randy will start for as long as he is here. He can hit big shots. He can sink 5 of 6 three pointers in a game. But every state fan knows that he is very streaky. He can go 3 or 4 games hitting nothing but 3's and then all of the sudden shoot 9 three's in a game and only make one. My main problem with him is that he didn't show up in the tourney last year. He couldn't seem to hit anything, so hopefully if we do make it to the tourney this year, he won't shut down like last year.

No he wouldn't. Right now, he's increasing his draft status. He will be very rich by next fall. I see him as an early non-lottery draft pick.

He has to be a head case. Something's definitely not right and at best he should be our 6th man.

he won't do what Rick asks him to, which I think amounts to playing defense and maybe rebounding.

Kodi having his head up his *** is why we have to start four freakin' guards every game.

I looked at two NBA mock draft web sites, and neither had Varnado in the first OR second round.

They did have him listed as a first rounder in 2010. I don't know if they know something we don't. I doubt it.

Take it for what it's worth. I'm sure he will have some agent telling him that the Lakers and Celtics are definately going to take him and then Jarvis will be the next big thing in Lithuania.

Barry will play because he is our best defender and some of you fail to realize that the game is played on both ends of the floor. That is the same reason Augustus sits and Osby has limited minutes. Coach's boy last night missed two freebies, got whipped several times on defense and did not much else. I agree he is a young player but he has to contribute when he is in there and he has yet to show that consistency. If Barry can get his shots to fall and we get anything out of Osby, Bailey, and Brian, we have a shot.

Who was Barry guarding for much of the second half?
Barry also missed some freebies. He also got whipped on defense. And with the exception of 1 made shot out of 9...he too really didnt do much else.

...just sayin.

he needs that extra year to bulk up. I know he hasn't shown much progress with that, but he needs to gain some weight. He will get knocked around in the NBA, and next year I think we will be good enough to get him a lot more exposure especially if we can get to the tourney and actually make a decent run.

he should, and probably will, go. An NBA franchise would rather have him in their program, with a trainer they choose, eating what they tell him to eat, and bulking up the way they want him to bulk up. They know about his defense, and his is showing them this season he can be a decent offensive threat. The NBA draft is about potential, not production. NBA teams draft project players early all the time. Swat is much less of a project than several of the first round players taken the last several years.
