Sounds good. I guess we'll have to stay tuned to find out who's transferring, declaring early for the draft, academically ineligible, etc.

Does this also mean that a few more players than we first thought might not be returning for various reasons?

Just last week, Stoops said that we would not take 25 guys. He said the number would be more than 20 but not 25.

Would have to...
That is what I am thinking also,we are just about to the point that 2 or 3 departures don't hurt as bad as they once did but I hope it isn't anyone on the projected 2 deep for the start of next season. We are in the best shape we have been since the height of the Brooks years,I hope we can build on where we are next season

For me, we are at a point where any 3 kids that are being mentioned would be icing on a tasty cake.
I had a conversation recently and came to the same conclusion. I believe 1 spot is reserved through NSD for Lynn Bowden. Then you have a number of quality names going after the last 2 spots. At some point, the coaches have to tell recruits that we have more interests than spots available and that there are athletes just as good as each of them. We are also at a point where the critical needs have been filled and alllow us to take the best athlete available approach.

Even though we're in the dead period, the recruits that are interested have to see the number crunch at hand. If your name is; Bruce Judson, Danny Davis, Dingle, or Jacques Jones, then you have to know there is only one spot left for any of those and Bowden gets the other.

The final spot is a hold for Wills, Munford, Ford, or another NSD flip.

The dead period is eating at Bruce Judson right now (check twitter timeline) for the reasons above. My guess is we get another commitment as soon as the dead period ends.

JROW just said that he expects Kentucky to take 3 more commitments for a total of 25 in the class.

My worthless guess on the class finish is:
Lynn Bowden
Jon Ford
Thayer Munford

I would love for Stoops to find a way to get these 3 players. That would be a heck of a class to help grow the program even farther along. Maybe the best class ever if not top 2-3 for sure. Could very well be the best for over all position's. I am really hoping to end this class with a big bang. GBB

To me this class is very underrated. Guys like Dort, Davis, Nesbitt, Bohanna,Whitaker,Wright,Thomas should all be bumped up a notch in my eyes. The offer lists for some of our lower rated guys do not match what you see on film and there measurable. Not to mention these guys have offer sheets that a lot of 4 stars don't have.

This is an interesting tidbit of news for sure. Not knowing what motivates Rowland's assessment, we cannot say whether he knows something, or whether he is guessing like the rest of us on this particular point. I don't know how many more commitments Stoops will take in this class. Here's what I know. With the 22 current commitments, 89 scholarship players are scheduled to be here next August. That means 4 more underclassmen will have to leave our football program after the bowl, or there could be decommits. With every new commitment, that means another underclassman will have to leave. Stoops might have 7 underclassmen in mind who are leaving after the bowl, although I don't know who they would be. That's what will be necessary to make room for a 25 man class. All signs are pointing toward Lynn Bowden committing to Kentucky. Bowden is a receiver/safety prospect. We might take either Danny Davis or Keshawn Dingle, but that might not happen if Stoops plans to use Bowden as a receiver. We already have lots of great corners, so it's possible Yusef Corker's commitment pushes Lonnie Johnson over to full time safety. That could push Bowden to receiver, removing a need for Davis or Dingle. John Ford has scheduled a visit to Kentucky, but he is committed to Miami. So that's a reach. Thayer Munford will commit to Ohio State the moment Urban Meyer offers him a scholarship, and I think that is coming unfortunately. I still think we take 23-24.

The fact that O$U doesn't need to target Bowden tells you they will remain a top 3 team for as long as Meyer is in C-Bus.
