JV Salem 20 Amherst 14

Amherst's line on both sides of the ball was huge. It seemed like each of their linemen outweighed our guy by 50 lbs. Their QB looked really good behind that line. He could run and throw the ball equally well, although his receivers didn't do him many favors.

Salem didn't look great except for the freshman RB Robinson. Salem JV hasn't lost a game in over 3 years, but at times it looked like that would change. Not sure if Amherst is that good or Salem wasn't up to par, or a combination.

There was a big size difference in their line and ours. It was about 290 pound avg. vs. 190 pound avg. Amherst defense was well coached for Salem's offense. I'll take the win, though.

Haven't been to the boards in a while. Still trying to adjust to the new system. I know certain people were tired of all the Salem posts, but they didn't have to redesign the whole thing.

Salem is very good but Amherst is very good also atleast at the J.V level...I tried to tell people on this board last year that Amherst size will be different the next couple of years..Amherst is use to the small and quick lineman and backs but they have very good size thats comming soon...
