Hmm so the trend of bad luck injuries continues. I remember at one point , Coach Cal being desperate was not disagreeing to bring a priest to bless the facilities and Rupp Arena. Did he actually do it? Maybe we should…

You could see on Coach Pope face how disappointed was when he said the Cam foot is broken and is a major blow to us.

Man this seems to be a problem. Do we even have a strength and condition program?
I think freak injuries often just happen. I don't think a S/C program guards you against a broken foot.

Just can't believe our misfortune with injuries though, we have more than had our share of them and this one really hurts as he was really playing well. Depth definitely takes a hit.

Horrible news for both sides of the ball. He was playing his best basketball and this really hurts bad. If there’s anything to this bringing guys in we need two now to come in and actually play minutes. Just terrible. I know none of that is happening so let’s roll and win as many as we can.

We started winning when we shortened the rotation. Looked like Noah took some if his minutes ans thats a huge dropoff

Didn’t see it so I I can’t perfectly say. But sometimes S&C doesn’t mean jack crap if you land on something wrong or fall just the right way.

I worked with a dude who was in great shape. Ran Ironman events. Took care of himself. Was out on a trial event one weekend and started a rope net climb. RIIIIIIIIIP. Literally tore his bicep. Went tot he doctor and it was just literally a freak tear. Dude did protein diets, ate well. Just happened.

Injuries can’t be predicted. And you can be in great shape and still injure yourself.

Pope doesn't believe in conditioning like the old days. He uses analytics to determine "rest"
There’s no conditioning program in history that can prevent broken bones. I know it’s natural to look for some underlying cause when we’ve seemed to have unusually bad injury luck in back to back seasons with Pope, but that isn’t actually the answer in this case.

Injuries can derail a coach. It happens, streak of injuries lead to bad years lead to a cycle of bad seasons lead to coaching change.

One thing he might want to do, I would suggest, is stop recruiting injured players and also try and get some ball handlers just in case. Might help to not have your top signed recruit coming in with a bad knee for starters.

Don’t know what to say about it anymore. I went back and looked at every blue blood for the last 10 years. I didn’t spend much time doing it obviously, was pretty long. But I do not see Duke or Kansas for sure having injury problems like this. Checked in conference over a few days at work, Tennessee and Florida didn’t have these problems either that I saw. Checked TN just because being from there I wanted to check and ask some friends. Nope.

I don’t know.
