There’s no conditioning program in history that can prevent broken bones. I know it’s natural to look for some underlying cause when we’ve seemed to have unusually bad injury luck in back to back seasons with Pope, but that isn’t actually the answer in this case.
He doesn’t help himself though. His top signed recruit was injured until January with no way of knowing if he’d ever be good. The issues start there and when injuries happen in season it just mounts and shines a light on it. Stop recruiting players who have past injury problems.

He’ll we’re doing it in football. 2 of our top signees are coming off major injuries. According to Texas Baxter was never the same after his and they’re just “wishing him luck”. Didn’t even try to keep him. Worried it’s an issue with NIL and JMI. Taking what we can get at reduced prices.

I blame Pope for not replacing these guys’ bones with adamantium à la Wolverine before the season started. We spent $22 million, you’re telling me there was a a few more million lying around for a few simple medical procedures?

So I guess Chandler back in starting lineup? It won’t happen but I’d consider starting Noah or Jasper. I like the energy Chandler and Mo have given us off the bench the past couple of games. Maybe it also gets one of those 2 young guys some confidence being in the starting lineup.

His top signed recruit was coming off a really bad injury and is now out possible for good.

It’s not simply bad luck. We lead into the season with issues here. Wouldn’t be so bad if we didn’t start with “he’ll be back in January” talk about key players.

He can’t help a kid breaking a foot, but we can do what we can to avoid the issue out of the gate.

What you said. We need Kam more than JQ. Is it even close?

Really demoralizing. The team has been playing well and they need Williams because of his versatility.

I know people have been joking about the G League, but that needs to be a real option now. Noah absolutely cannot be counted on to take those minutes.

Aberdeen - Johnson
Chandler - Johnson
Oweh - Noah
Mo D - Jelly
Moreno - Garrison

That bench suddenly looks extremely weak.

Noah is virtually unplayable right now.

G League can't be an option. They would have had to be enrolled a few days ago I believe. The kid at Bama got enrolled . I could be wrong but I don't think it's an option

He came right in during a key stretch at the end and picked up a foul on the defensive end (granted, that one was more questionable) and then ran over his guy on the offensive side. That was so frustrating. We're going to need him to step up more.
I thought both were pretty questionable. And then he got a nice defensive stop on Swain. Also grabbed 2 rebounds in 3 minutes. Garrison had 3 in like 18 minutes. I’m just ready to completely move off him and Noah is about all we have left. Noah can shoot it. I think he and Jasper just need a shot of confidence and they can contribute. Garrison has had plenty of chances.

Noah needs to work on his off-ball action. But if you can't shake your defender....

Serious question
I read today about the 49ers coaches looking into increased EMF emissions or something from an electric substation.
Is anyone in the know , know of any large substations near where the players practice and live

To be fair, he got one of the games best rebounds also with 2 Texas guys fouling the …. out of him and secured it. Oh yeah, no call on the fouling.

4-2 in the SEC for Kentucky means you better get moving. We’re in a major final four drought and have had the doors blown off of us. We have no recruits coming in. If you don’t see anything to worry about, I don’t know what to tell you.

No way should a single Kentucky fan be happy with at the moment. Keep winning and Mark turn it up, get these final fours, then I’ll be happy. Not a damn chance until them. We’re a blue blood.

I’m happy with a win, not happy with what’s been going on here or what the future looks to hold. Not at all. Blue bloods especially this one has standards. 4-2 in the SEC with who we’ve played doesn’t add up.

Not really sure how to respond to that so I just won’t.

I will say this though, people have to understand that the landscape of college basketball has changed a ton the past 5-15 years with respect to how much talent is across the board these days. It used to be that UK went every season and had maybe 2-5 losses in conference, but that’s not the case anymore. It’s not the coach, it’s not necessarily our players, it’s just the fact that everybody is paying these guys now and it has smoothed out the peanut butter into a thinner layer across the bread. The trick is to win your share, get better, get guys believing, then make a run at the end of the season.

I mean, yeah it sucks for the team and I hate it for Kam but we weren’t winning a title anyway. Rather have all the injuries happen this year than with a team that can actually win a title.

The program does seem cursed though.
