Expecting this to be a lot closer than last years playoff game. Big test for both programs. I think Kaneland has had the tougher opponents thus far. Looking forward to a hard fought game.

Kaneland has played a better schedule but I’ll take Sterling since the program really seems to be trending up over the last few years. This should be one of the best games this week.

Wow!!! I'm pretty tired, but I had to read your name like 3 times....Klanddad, I was missing one of the d's and read Klan dad... oooohhhh K-land dad.

Two very different meanings!!! Plus I'm not that strong a reader...Lmao

kaneland is easily the best team sterling has faced so far this season. they present many challenges on both sides of the ball that sterling has not seen from their first 3 opponents. i expect a close, competitive game. field position and turnovers will be key.

i'm curious to see what kaneland does on kickoffs. i see they often kick short pop ups or onside kicks, which can lead to excellent field position if handled by the return team.

Yeah I saw your post.. Rather not give out too much information. But you are correct about the kicking game. I would say wr're givingup maybe 10 to 15 yards more with the Pop Up Kicks. But so far our defense hasn't failed us and hope that Trend continues. Trust me I cringe every time we kick off. in every game so far we have won the turnover battle and again hope that Trend continues... But overall just looking for a good competitive game and it really is a toss-up as far as I can see.. good measuring stick for both teams. How is your sophomore team. My younger son will be playing that game. Our sophomores a week in areas but they do have some boys up on varsity.

Yeah I think I need to change it. Put a space in there or something.. any idea how I do that. I looked into it and didn't see anything. I may have to delete my account start over again.

15-3 Sterling right now. Some bend but don’t break defense for Sterling so far. Kaneland with an onsides kick on the opening kickoff but missed a field goal.

28-10 Sterling at half. 2 turnovers for Kaneland were big. Also having a lot of trouble slowing down Sterling.

Sterling answers. These are two defenses that had very few td’s scored on their first team d’s going into this one.

Sterling runs out the clock the last 9 minutes. Ends up winning 42-24. Kaneland definitely a good test and Sterling was able to take care of business.

Hats off to Sterling... They seem to bring out the worst in us.. I think the first quarter killed us. We recovered the onside kick to start the game and drove down the field and got stalled at the 3. A few series later we fumbled at the Sterling's 3. We needed to play a nearly perfect game and it was the complete opposite. Both offenses were able to move the ball. In the end our defense couldn't match their speed on Sterling's offense. I didn't understand our decision to not go for it on 4th and 3 with 9 minutes left in the game down by three scores with the ball in the middle of the field. I think there are a few plays the coaches wish they had back. But in the end Sterling was the better team tonight. Good luck to them the rest of the season, and I'm sure our boys would like another crack at them in the playoffs.

Going to be a tough road for a playoff birth with DeKalb, Sycamore, Morris, Yorkville and Rochelle left to play,.... 6-3 your in, but 5-4 with this schedule will get you in I hope.
