Was budgeted for $450M but final phases may balloon to over a billion

For me it would be simple for us. Re-seat with leg and hip room, chairbacks only and I'm in for season tickets. I may/may not come to every game. I'm 100% NOT wearing maroon when the temps are over 85, no matter what the athletic department suggests, but I would participate and come as often as I could.

Why? Football isn’t exactly their strong point.
It’s not historically but I really don’t understand why it can’t be. It’s a good size school with a good size alumni base. It’s close to a large metro area (Kansas City) and Lawerence itself is a very cool small city. There is no reason that Kansas can’t at least be what Kansas state has been.

Back when I used to travel a lot on business I occasionally had time after my customer meetings were over to look around before catching a flight somewhere else so I toured a number of College campuses and checked out the various stadiums. Most were disappointing compared to SEC venues. Now this has been a number of years ago so Im sure that some have improved but most were way behind the SEC and While some were larger, Scott Field was already nicer than many. Notre Dame campus was an unkept mess. Didn’t get in the stadium but I was certainly not impressed. got in Wisconsin and it was crappy. University of Washington was a great setting but stadium reminded me of rodeo bleachers. Oregon State was very high schoolish. Actually pitiful. Arizona State stadium was very nice. Campus area also very nice. Oklahoma stadium was very good. Did not get in the Nebraska stadium but the campus was kind of mixed in with town which didn’t give you a campus feel. Actually attended a game in the LA coliseum between USC and Notre Dame. Stadium was an old dump and the fans are really pitiful. It was a huge disappointment. Louisvilles old stadium was bad but the new one looks great. Indiana stadium was very similar to Scott Field before we added the upper decks and north end zone. That famous basketball area is very, very average. I got in there for a few minutes back when Bobby Knight was coaching. saw some more but these stick out in my memory.
