We used to have a good basketball culture. I’m thinking now that the removal of Stans, and all the BS that followed, has killed it. Now our fans are belligerent idiots.

Funny. I was upset about our performance Tuesday without knowing a thing about the Bama/OM game. I'll still be disappointed no matter what occurs Saturday. I like it when the team shows fight. We can lose, just don't throw up the flag in the first 10 minutes.
Basketball is a different sport with regards to football and baseball. One really good player can affect games easier in basketball. Auburn had a few good players, there is a reason they are #1 in the country. Kentucky had a few good players, there is a reason. Mississippi State has a real good team, yet not a true standout player this year. There will be ups and there will be downs. We played a watered down pre conference schedule, the SEC isn't watered down. There will be nights the ball just doesn't bounce the same way. It's not because Jans isn't a good coach or is a good coach. Jans is one of the better coaches we've had at Mississippi State. With that being said, he also has areas that aren't as good as others.
Can we do better than Jans, probably not currently. We aren't going to devote enough money, facilities upgrades, NIL compensation to bring Bruce Pearl. Until that happens, our basketball teams will be a roller coaster ride. Sorry if it is unliked.

That’s ancient history now. Howland struggled to get fan support and high end wins but raised our floor back to an NIT level. Jans is about to take us to 3 NCAAT’s in a row which has only been done once before in our history. We’re selling out the Hump frequently again. Our culture has been back for a solid year or two now.

Not really, and I was at the Kentucky game. That was the best atmosphere in years but it still isn’t back to what it was.
