Since the other Kanter thread has deteriorated into a political battle thought I would start anew just to keep things in perspective. Kanter is now in London and his next step is to be flown to New York maybe tomorrow. Sounds like he is safe and sound and has stated that he has many stories to tell once he gets back to the U.S.

I tried to look up his citizenship and it doesn't look like he ever gained or tried for US citizenship or he may be in better shape than he is now.

From what I've read, he has not attained U.S. citizenship but it now looks like that is the next step he might proceed with and seems like the NBA is assisting him with.

He's too young to realize the safety of being a US citizen. (I bet he does now though.) MANY in this country take that little part of their lives for granted but being a US citizen is HUGE in this world.
