Kareem Walker

[Burt Macklin, FBI]

Steve mentioned on his show that Kareem Walker was taking an academic redshirt this year. I thought he had already take an a redshirt year at Michigan.

Does this mean he has 2 years to play 2 or is next year it for him?

[Rupert Jenkins]

Sounds like he is getting an extra year from the ncaa for academic issues and should have 2 years left

[Uncle Ruckus]

I didn’t think that was a thing

What are "academic issues"? Does it mean he sucked academically, or that he's outstanding academically? If the former, why reward him for bad behavior?

[RightOfCenter]

I don’t know, but based of past instances, he will get two to play one. The grey shirt would allow MSU to pay for his education.

I'm not a NCAA admin so I dont know. Nor do I care the reason. I'm happy he can play 2 years regardless of the reason. It was probly because they were so late making a decision. But I wouldn't know for sure

[Herbert Nenninger]

An article in the daily journal mentioned him having one year left after this academic redshirt year.

Wtf is an academic redshirt? I think that’s another word for sitting a year out

[Xenomorph]

Maybe Rupert can clarify it with Cohen during their round of golf tomorrow.

[Rupert Jenkins]

I guess one year only then. We definitely need him this year and Joe says he looks good in practice. Maybe he will be a capable change of pace guy or whatever. I hope Kylin comes back but if I felt like I could go by the fourth round I would go get paid.
