Every time I see this person's name, I am reminded of Gen "Stormin" Norman.

The General was guest speaker at a Greenbrier event. He told us that Katie Couric asked to sit in on Battle Plans the night before Gulf War. Said she actually got indignant when she was refused access to Top Secret meeting. She was directed to the "News Room" he had set up to make releases to all the media at the same time at a Saudi site. He said that she actually thought she was entitled enough to make demands and threats.

That is what I remember about Ms Couric.

A lot of media people thought that -- my friends who worked in that media center could tell you some stories about big shot journalists throwing tantrums. They said the best ones to work with were what big shots like Katie Couric would consider the second or third string -- smaller newspapers and TV stations that serve local military markets. And that was my experience at Fort Hood: the newspapers & TV stations in Waco and Austin were easy to get along with. The ones from Dallas all thought their asses weighed a ton.
