Mississippi State coach Rick Stansbury said the school will likely find out if Dee Bost
wins his appeal to play this season when the fall semester starts later
this month. Bost declared for the NBA draft but failed to withdraw his
name by the new May 8 deadline. He told Stansbury that he didn't realize
the new deadline or at least thought he could go through the draft
unselected and still return to school. But that rule had been rescinded.
Bost would be the Bulldogs' lead guard if he returns. He averaged 13
points and 5.2 assists a game last season. The Bulldogs will lose Bost's
experience if he doesn't return, but it isn't like they have no
replacements. Stansbury is banking on major contributions from point
guard Brian Bryant and shooting guard Jalen Steele. Meanwhile, Stansbury is anticipating that Renardo Sidney will be in shape and ready to be a force inside once he's eligible after the first nine games.

he could easily become a virus on the team after all of this stupidity. plus i am not one who likes to reward idiotic behavior...although i would have enjoyed seeing Masoli in maron and whit

maybe i am just complacent and don't care anymore since we are all programmed to expect this kind of crap from our basketball team

How could our coaches not have told him about the rule change? I had trouble understanding this little episode from thebeginning, and if his account is true, Bost is not the only idiot, Stans is right there with him.

I believe that Bost is supposed to play some 2 guard this year if he gets back in. Has anyone seen Bryant play this summer? I would imagine that he will have alot to do with whether or not that can happen.

Bostmisses a deadline. Masolistole laptops and got busted with weed. Bost can't play. Masoli can. Sounds about par for the course.

I don't see anyway this works out good for Bost or MSU. Even if the NCAA grants a rare leniancy, he'll probably be suspended through 15 games.

believe that no coaches were in contact with him during this period to discuss the options he had.

....he very likely had agents in his ear telling him BS, including lying about the new rule.

If he was dumb enough to believe he would be drafted, why wouldn't he be dumb enough to not get the rule?

need to be fired if they didn't explain to him the rule. But there is not a doubt in my mind that the coaches told Dee over and over what the deadline was.

They were too busy exchanging text messages with Phil Turner and then figuring out what lies they could tell to make it look like Phil quit the team. Except for Kirby. He was at Kinko's printing resumes.

but all this really makes the entire program look stupid. Bost not withdrawing in time, Turner wavering and then not even being told he was getting the boot, Ravern and his ****** attitude...

Our entire basketball program seems like it's out of some Tallahatchie County Group Home for the developmentally disabled
