This is probably a good thing for us, because we ain't making it anyway. By the time it expands to 16 or so, maybe we'll have a real AD and coach who can put us in position to make a run at it.

SEC is. B1G wants it, though I don't know why. I don't see a real reason to go over 16.Translation: SEC & Big 10 are more solidly than ever opposed on the proposed expansion to 24 teams.
It will after next year. The fight was Big 10 would support a move to 16 if SEC would agree to go to 24 in 2-4 years. SEC wants to keep it at 16.Should go to 16
That way espn can get a crappy four loss Bama inIt will after next year. The fight was Big 10 would support a move to 16 if SEC would agree to go to 24 in 2-4 years. SEC wants to keep it at 16.
Right. Sentence was poorly worded. SEC and Big 10 are on opposite sides of the proposal to go to 24.SEC is. B1G wants it, though I don't know why. I don't see a real reason to go over 16.
I’m just hoping for the weed eater, independence Shreveport bowl at 5-7.Welp, there goes our chance at making the playoff this year**
Why? I'm hoping for a real coach by the time that bowl season comes around.I’m just hoping for the weed eater, independence Shreveport bowl at 5-7.
I agree but I’m not optimistic on either one. I think we’ll be at 16 with the double bye in a couple of years. And I think there’s some talk of moving the Army-Navy game up a week. I don’t think either are good for college football, but that’s what it is.While I obviously support expanding to 16, it needs to be just a regular 4 round tournament without any byes. Apparently the format under discussion had the 13-16 seeds in a play-in round the same weekend as the Army-Navy game, with the 1 and 2 seeds getting a double bye. That's dumb as hell and I'm glad it didn't pass.
Next priority should be getting the championship game no later than the first Saturday of January. No need to stretch it out so much.
