Sports Illustrated trying to keep up with ESPN? That's the worst I've ever seen it. Getting Missouri and Ole Miss confused? About as bad as getting us and Michigan State mixed up. </p>

are very few of the good web developers and engineers (like msudogsrule and myself) are sports fans. This is why these things continue to happen. Most of this guys are either:

(1) geeks that hate sports because they got picked on (see my entire office)
(2) geeks from other countries that only like cricket and badminton (see vendors that I work with)

I work with a guy who attended LSU and had no idea they had a baseball team until he read that they had spend $X million on a baseball stadium and he was in complete disgust.

Conversely, one of our network engineers grew up a big MSU fan, and pitched at Austin Peay. He and I get along.

Why does it stay up for so long though? You'd think they would catch it and change it.

Unbelievable. Truly astounding.

States that start with the letter "M" are easily confused I guess.

but I can confirm that it happens. A lot of people don't realize how easy updating a site with a good CMS really is. Developers scare clients with jargon and **** to get more money for updates. My guess here is that the same group that does CNN does CNN SI.

I once worked as a consultant for a web development company that does pretty much every minor league baseball site. I had to explain how innings in baseball worked. They do great work, but getting there is a *****.
