Kennise in portal

Announced this morning that Kennise Johnson is entering the portal.

Not a surprise. She appeared to be a fun and supportive player on the bench.
Weird that she finished the year on the injury report without an injury being widely reported.

Agree! Already are losing McCabe, Hannah, Kylie, Jada, and now Kennise. That's 5 players going and only 1 (Woliczko) coming in so far.

Not exactly losing a ton of offense there. Hannah yes but one shooter that plays defense could make up all that’s leaving

Very true, but need players to fill out roster and have depth. (injuries will happen)

This one is not surprising at all, suffered thru injuries early and often and that makes it tough to get any time. I figured this one was a for sure portal if she wanted to continue playing probably at a smaller venue. I think the hawks will be very active in the portal but I don't think it will be anyone that's in the current soph class as that class is very top heavy on our current team going forward.With no seniors on next years team I can see them possibly getting 1 or 2 plug and play 1 year players like Lucy and then focus on younger portal players to offset the roster.

I'm not worried about only one incoming. Swing big on recruits and then fill the misses in with transfers. Wasting time and resources on non elite recruits to develop is a waste. Many will transfer out anyway

You do realize Ava and Hannah were highly rated recruits correct? The point is go after the recruits you want and don't take fall backs.

I read her statement in the QC Times today and I have never seen a player leave and then make so many nice statements, covering every aspect, players and coaches, etc. She was exactly the type of person Iowa has and will continue to recruit. I'm looking forward to following her career.
