It appears that both DT and I are terrible at predicting starting lineups. haha A lot of unexpected changes there in that lineup.

I am also surprised a little at that lineup, Coach Minge going with more experienced starters in the field.

That lineup has speed speed and more speed. I really hope we get on base and press the issue and get some steals and get runners moving today. Put pressure on their pitcher to keep runners where they are and get him thinking and sped up and that might help our hitters at the plate.

You have to say that the senior class is a pretty strange one and not the strongest we've ever had.

That's twice we've failed to get a bunt down. Unacceptable. Have to move the runners, especially against a great team like this.

and the result, the 2nd time the lead off has got on base and failed to score.

Well, Mahan has two attempts and commits his first error of the season at 2nd.

Mahan with a throwing error on a routine grounder, however a double play on the next pitch gets us out of the inning !

Makes up for it by being the second half of the double play. Hjelle gave up some contact in that inning, but no damage done and he seems to be settling in a bit better and throwing strikes.

The throwing error was made possible by the bobble he had before hand. If he fields the ball cleanly it is a can of corn play.

Pompey with a mistake in right. They rule it a base hit, but it was a lazy pop fly that he should have brought in, but he broke on the ball poorly and then couldn't quite bring it in. Runners on first and second now. Another dangerous time with RISP and just 1 out.
