Jelkins was tremendous tonight. And Adcock has grown up closing out several games in a row. This is a big development-can never have enough dependable relievers. But also, I would expect Ming to move Bennett to weekend rotation for at least a few weeks until Cleaver gets his issues figured out. His Fall injury really sidetracked him. Figuring out the 3rd starter biggest season obstacle at this point.
The Ole Miss pitching has really stymied the rhythm of our offense but a gritty win tonight.
Jaxon Jelkin has been incredible working his way back from TJ surgery this year. Seeing him find his form again is huge for this rotation.
Adcock comes in to shut it down with his durability recording the 6-out save.
After those outings from Jelkin and Adcock, the Cats have a rested pen going into the rubber match. Hopefully the bats show up early, get a strong start from Harris, and take the series against Ole Miss tomorrow afternoon. Harris 3 2/3 scoreless against the Rebels last year.
This team just keeps fighting. If we can get Bell back in the field that will help with the lineup as well because can use someone else at DH. Need cleaver to get back in a groove too.
Always tough to win a road series in this conference. Still, if we are going to continue to elevate this baseball program, we can't make excuses like that.
We've got Murray State up next for our midweek tune up before we head to the house of horrors down in Baton Rouge next weekend.
