Purdue fan here. Purdue and UK don't really have much of a history between them (at least since I've been a fan), but for the past 40 years I've been operating under the assumption that UK fans were like Indiana, Tennessee or Illinois fans. I've been lurking here for a few months, sucked in by the Braden Smith to UK rumors, and I have to admit I haven't seen a single comment that reflects negatively on UK fans.

I haven't gone into the depths of the board and have mainly navigated within threads that are related to Braden Smith, but you guys seem to have your heads on straight. Hell, I might even root for UK when they are not playing Purdue.

Purdue fans are largely alright. The casual fan can be hit or miss (same as any other program) but the real Purdue basketball fans are pretty decent folks.

I've said, a few times here, that I wouldn't feel good about taking the strongest of UK teams into Mackey. I'm not sure the casual UK fan understands what the inside of Mackey is like for a big game.

That's just on this board. I'm kind of a big deal on the Purdue boards. Look at that like to post ratio.😂 Also please note that I was banned and my account removed in 2000 because I posted a Flash game where the goal was to control an Indiana fan while he was giving a sheep the business (back in the old days).

Flash has been discontinued so all of my games and interactive cartoons are gone, but this will give you the idea.


This was a flash game where you punch an Indiana fan in the face when he says something stupid.


This game captured all of the insane "We are back" and "the boys played hard" type comments you frequently hear.


I found this Indiana grad putting his Advanced Wheelbarrowing degree to use in when I was in Baghdad, Iraq. What a find.

One of my favorite college players of all time was Rick Mount; one of the three or four best shooters I ever saw

yeah, I'm not sure a lot of these hold up over the years. When Crean was coaching Indiana, it came out from several recruits that he was telling everyone on the recruiting trail that they remind him of Dwyane Wade. Like that was his pitch...you can be the next Dwyane Wade (played for Crean at Marquette). Wade was a hot item at the time in Miami.

My older brother went to Purdue. He graduated HS in 93 so he was there when Glenn Robinson was tearing it up. He got me a poster with the entire teams autographs including Keady the year they went to the elite eight I think it was. West Lafayette was horrendous but Ive always had a soft spot for Purdue since then.

I was trying to make an analogy of the program and relevance in the state.
Purdue is to the state of Indiana collegiate athletic hierarchy as Wake Forest is to the state of North Carolina collegiate athletic hierarchy.

Hey bro, much love from me. Purdue is building something solid. I hope we get into a series together, it would be fun. It would obviously be more competitive than against Indiana 😂😂😂.

Anyway, I don’t dislike any fan because of who they root for, we all have our teams, mainly because of where we are from or live. Sports should be fun, not toxic. Welcome to the board.
