The guy looks pretty good and it'd be a dame shame if Pope didn't at least take a hard look at him.
You want us recruiting a guy thats going into the draft or staying where he's at? the only people stupid enough to pay his NIL ask is BYU because he wants Dybantsa type money to not just go NBA draft route.

Dame Sarr will not be part of Barça's roster for the remainder of the 2024/25 season. The Club and the player have reached a mutual agreement so that he can focus on his sporting future, with an eye on making the leap to the NBA.

He's going through the draft process to see where he stands and possibly plans to play a year of college hoops if he doesn't get the feedback he wants/gets told he needs that by pro teams
Ok so that clears it up that's what was so damn confusing because of what was being translated in his statement above.

Guy had his breakthrough game 5 days ago, of course he isn't on outdated draft boards
He had one breakthrough game in a hoops summit game. I mean I guess that counts for something. Illinois writer wrote he would probably be ranked 20-30 in this freshmen class and to me that don't scream NBA right now, it does say maybe a year later.

His breakthrough game was against the top high school prospects in the country, he was relatively an unknown entity before that. Why would that not count for something? It was his first time being in such spotlight and he delivered a great performance

Sarr and Yessoufou that is going to Baylor were the best two guards on the floor. Period.

Yessoufou is the next Anthony Edwards in the making if nothing happens to him. He will dominate in the Big 12.
Sarr had the ball in his hands a lot in that game and drove hard and seemed to have a very high motor. He would be a great get.

Is he going to move any college player or foreign player down in the draft though is what I am saying? Do they put more stock into international play or one hoops summit game?

That's why he's being courted by colleges? He would be drafted purely on potential if it were to happen

Our roster is in good shape. Listening to Pope on BBN tonight interview, he is very selective. He will take his time and get players that will not be afraid to play on biggest stage, shared the ball but also play for the name on the jersey.

I would not be surprised to get another international player. They typically :

-have great fundamentals , shooting, passing , dribbling * check for Pope system
- played against grown men * check for SEC physicality
- are experienced players * check to learn quick a new system
- played in Europe in front of big crowds * check against not to be intimidated playing in Rupp and other hostile arenas.

Sarr fits that star profile that Pope is looking for.

The same people are saying hes raw and hasn't played enough ball as of a couple months ago. One game changes that? I see potential in him, and I'm sure NBA teams do but is that enough to take him in first round, guarantee him first round money?

We have 3 scholarships left to give. I saw on Sports Nation that we are in the mix for Eaglestaff and Watkins. I saw another place we are in play for 2 Euro players. Lot of guessing or who is right?

I'm literally saying that he should take a year in college to improve his draft stock for next year. You are taking my talking points and acting like I personally said he would be a first round pick this year when I very clearly stated he is unproven and started to blow up over the Hoops Summit game.

Weird conjecture. Have a good day.

Dude you are being sensitive. I wasn't saying you I was saying there has been other people saying that. I'm sure you would like him here like most people.

Well yeah but I was just questioning why j cole fan? If you don't like questioning I think maybe a little sensitive.
I answered your question and you repeated it three separate times. Your lack of comprehension doesn't make me sensitive.

You're clearly projecting. You quoted me originally. You have kept quoting me. It's giving obsessive.

I just listened to an Illinois' podcast. The link is below. These guys seem plugged in. They are saying that Dame and Illinois had an agreement at a certain price point. After the Nike Hoop Summit, Dame's agent raised the price point to 2.5 million and that is why Illinois backed away. I hope Pope is willing to pay the 2.5 mil.

Them saying Kentucky purposefully put out their interest in him is interesting
