Very relevant. Name a rapper with a more successful 25 year run. You can’t, don’t try.
Top 10 Best-Selling Rappers / Hip Hop Artists of All Time:
  • EMINEM. 227 million units sold.
  • DRAKE. 152 million units sold.
  • KANYE WEST. 140 million units sold.
  • JAY-Z. 125 million units sold.
  • LIL WAYNE. 110 million units sold.
  • NICKI MINAJ. 106 million units sold.
  • FLO RIDA. 102 million units sold.
  • TUPAC SHAKUR. 75 million units sold.

I hate rap and know nothing about it. Has Lil Wayne been rapping successfully for 25yrs? When did his first album drop? Was it 2000?
Years of successful rapping being almost equal. Eminem seems to have had more success. Google says so anyhow.

In no world should Niki Minaj have more sales than Tupac. Dead or not PAC should be right behind Eminem in sales.

Aka Cal is desperate. That all sounds great but he still needs to show that he’s willing to change his coaching ways to be successful again.
Seems like smoke and mirrors. At the end of the day it’s about winning some title now. This is some sort of a gimmick to bring excitement but cal needs to realize that bbn won’t be excited until we have won another one. There’s a lot of losing on the table that needs to be atoned for.

He was in a very successful group before he put out his solo work.

I remember a Monk episode where he was trying to communicate with SnoopDog and his crew. He was mashing rap words together and rotating his hand for some type of fist bump. I can see Cal doing the same thing with these guys, 😆. I think it is a great idea, a lot of recruits for years to come will have a positive vibe in their head for UK, which is a good thing.

I'd rather listen to Maynard James Keenan, Danny Carey, Adam Jones, and Justin Chancellor.
I've never seen much artistry in Rap, musically or otherwise. Guess I'm just old. However, the ho's do love it.....
Oh...and this mumble rap. I mean really how much talent does that require?

Seems like a great thing for the program if they can pull it off. Also if live to hear some suggestions from the people that don’t like rap. Who would you get that recruits would also be into?

Only 2 of those have had a 25 year career. And “units sold” does not account for mixtapes. Lil Wayne chose to give away at least 50% of his music for free, probably more than. And it’s not like they were throw-aways, everyone knows he had the most legendary mixtape run of all time. Also doesn’t include his sales as a featured artist, if it did, he would be hundreds of millions ahead of Eminem and Jay-Z. A Lil Wayne feature from ‘07-‘12 all but guaranteed a Top 10 hit for an artist.

As I just responded to another poster, when you include mixtapes and features (which you have to), Lil Wayne absolutely blows Eminem out the water in every single metric.

Eminem is the most commercially successful sure, but Wayne did numbers commercially and had the streets on lock. Literally gave gigabytes on gigabytes of free music away. Googling who sold more in an entertainment sector and basing success on that is ridiculous. I guess you believe Michael Bay is a more successful director than Martin Scorcese huh?

Not to mention, Lil Wayne signed and started the careers of 2 rappers on that list, Drake and Nicki Minaj. Success is more than money, what about influence? Eminem brought 50 Cent to the mainstream, but that’s it. Wayne’s influence in the music industry and in hip hop culture far outpaces Eminem.

Weezy’s mixtape game is unmatched.
