I agree Garrison is a mess....but this is alot like many of last years losses (Ohio St, Vandy, Arkansas).....zero defensive intensity, detail and toughness.
Pope wants to be more like Mike Dantoni/Suns type of team and has zero defensive chops.....just unnaceptable from a 22M dollar roster with athletes like Lowe, Oweh, Aberdeen, Chandler, Diabate, etc.. to be this bad on D.

They are certainly treating this game like they circled it months ago.
What you’re seeing tonight is a team that’s tired of getting their *** best every year. Looks like they want it more and are playing harder. Our defense is poor, their whole team is shooting the three ball pretty good and we are forcing shots at times and maybe getting out coached some. I see fire inside their eyes and deer in the headlights in ours. They are at home and want it more.
Oh yea didn’t we just get our *** whooped by Georgetown? Yea I’m concerned. We arent athletic enough once again. Save me the analytics. Pope better get some players next year or im off the bandwagon. Call me what you want.
Not fond of the line ups Pope is putting out. BG needs more time on the bench. Can't wait for JQ to be healthy. Chandler can't guard his own shadow. Lowe, Aberdeen, Diabante, Moreno, Oweh should be on the floor together.
To be honest, I’m beginning to have reservations about Pope. Too damn soft and no semblance of any defensive coaching.

Im not convinced yet we are doing the best job we could be with NIL. Last year, it was a last minute team, but that could be blamed on the coaching change. This year, a better roster. But missing on recruits and some of the elite transfers went elsewhere.
This is UK and we allegedly spent $20m on this roster, has to be better than this. I mean Chandler is starting? Idk.
they are significantly quicker and faster than we are. combine that with shooting and you get this. it's like Cal never left.
