Stokes should be a must get now. Id up the offer by 200k or something.
There are a lot of things Pope is doing well. Very well. But we need to see him go big game fishing.. and not neccesarily just him, but the school as well.
Idk I still sometimes get this feeling that Kentucky basketball/AD don't think they need to play this game, the way other schools play it. Almost like we aren't willing to pony up for a single elite player because we'd rather make a 10-deep roster.
Its a new era. You have to pay to win. Its that simple. Cant rely on your legacy.

UL went to the line four times up 7, got one point, and outscored UK 1-0 to win by 8.
late edit note: UK had missed a wide open three or two and the front end of two one and ones in the preceding couple minutes. Like I said in an earlier post, UL is a bunch of chokers and Kentucky just didn't make shots to take advantage. They had a chance to complete an epic comeback but couldn't shoot in crunch time(so I guess UK choked too).

It’s early. Louisville has a good team. We are missing some fire we had last year especially from Oweh. Maybe this game wakes him up. Maybe I’m over reactionary but Moreno and even Jelavic need more playing time and Garrison much less. We need something from Jasper Johnson and hope that Williams gained some confidence tonight. We’re gonna be fine.
He would have been abused so bad….
Not if we replace him with more portal role players. It's amazing to me that we spent $22 million on a roster that might only have one real NBA player on the entire roster.
I hope JQ is the savior we all hope he is. Garrison cannot play big minutes playing like he did tonight. Moreno, JQ, AJ. Garrison can play big minutes in blowout situations for some feel good moments.
Ironically, the thing that will ended up killing us was turn overs and free throws. Aside from that, the game was statistically very even. Our defense is horrific. We have got to stop jacking threes and we must get the ball into the paint. I know we have a lot of boo birdies in the fanbase, but this team don’t quit. I still like our chances.

I hate losing too, but game like this grow teams more than 30-point wins versus Valpo.
Does anyone know who we need to get permission from before we can complain about Pope and the teams performance tonight?
Would have felt much worse if we didn’t try to fight back from the biggest haymaker ever. Still not great but try us once we have JQ.

Dumb turnovers and poor decisions were the difference in the game. 6-14. Outrebounded them and shot better percentages but they had many more possession than us. More agressive and doubled us up at the FT line. Not the end of the world but a terrible game to lose because of who it is.
I don’t think we will lose very many games. I expect we now know that we have what it takes against these types of teams. Louisville doesn’t want to see Kentucky later this season

Oweh is playing for NBA scouts right now, trying to shoot from the outside, instead of driving and being physical for UK.
And really, it's not like they would be paying that much more for a guy like Stokes. I heard he wants $4 million. Oweh's getting north of $3 million. I'd trade Oweh and another portal guy for Stokes. It would probably be the same amount of money. We are already paying premium. It's just that we're paying premium for quantity and not quality.
I think UL might have a bunch of these. Legit good team. They can shoot it.

What did I say that was incorrect? Do you think Pope coached a good game? Did you think Louisville had a good frontcourt? Did you think pushing the pace was wise and worked out well against a team that has almost all speedy and frail guards?
Not many teams are going to shoot it like UL just did, UL included. We will be fine.
Honestly besides the runs where we went down 20, the final score was about what I expected.
Hope he starts doing better if not he will have to be a bench player he seems to be good at cheering from the bench
