Politics is all of that and more. It isn't for a participation trophy.

It isn’t though. When did it go from picking the right people and wanting the best for our state and country to “well I’m red team” or “I’m blue team” and “no matter what happens or what screwed up thing my team does I’m gonna walk into hell screaming how I was right”

It shouldn’t be that way. No one ever wants to admit when they were wrong. Both sides think they were right about everything and truthfully both sides are wrong on just about everything. We’ve elected leaders who don’t lead for nearly 40 years and allow them to become rich and greedy off of our backs. Nearly every election the wrong person is picked.

It’s weird that so many people only care about McConnell being powerful. They’d rather have someone who’s powerful but puts kentucky on the back burner as opposed to someone who will put Kentucky first.

What do you want him to do? Let me guess. FREE EVERYTHING...free college , 2k a month for everybody including felons, open borders, send Iran more money and give China free rein over our economy. That's just for starters, right? When does overhauling the Constitution come in.

No I just want him to start caring about our state. A state that has been failing to accommodate its people my entire lifetime. I want him to care more about us than he does bailing out his friends and making money. We elected him to represent us. Not take advantage of us. He’s had opportunities to restore jobs in Eastern Ky and he didn’t. He’s had opportunities to make changes that would benefit us and he didn’t. He’s not all bad but he’s far from all good and we continue to elect him just because he’s powerful.

lol, we have poured tons of pork spending (fed and state) into EKY. You could criticize he and Hal Rogers for too much pork more than not doing enough, latest being the KY Wired fiasco. You can't force companies to move to EKY. And MM spearheaded a tax decrease for that benefited a couple million Kentuckians just a year or so ago.

Tesla wanted to build solar panels in EKY and pay former coal miners to upkeep the maintenance on them and give them valuable training on building and maintaining solar panels and Mitch turned them down. KY wired was in Ashland? That’s not even EKY to me that’s NKY and from the jump that looked fraudulent and the tax decrease would be fine if so many of our people weren’t homeless and jobless and below the poverty line.

First of all....nearly every election does pick the correct person, especially in the POTUS races. Despite Obama ending up as one of the worst leaders in history, he was probably a better "candidate" at the time than either McCain or Romney. I doubt either of them would have fared better in the long run. And Trump winning was a no-brainer against the crook, especially given how well our country has prospered. Were we not in as strong a position as we were pre-CV19, then the recovery would have damn near impossible. And now Trump has to fight the radical leftist idiots as well.

Also, if you don't believe in Red vs Blue, then you haven't studied the platforms of each party....for example...if you support abortion, open borders, anti-2nd amendment, more gov't red tape and control, less national security/defense, to name a few....then you are democratic liberal all the way. It isn't rocket science.

So...pick your team.

I’m pro life, pro 2nd amendment but I don’t think it should as easy as it is to get a gun, against our border control policies or at least the way it’s trending, and you mention gov’t red tape and control yet both sides are control too much yet you won’t acknowledge that. Both parties are big government regardless of whatever they tell you and what you want to believe. Why do I have to be for every policy that one side agrees with. You literally just listed out a bunch of things saying if you’re for all of these then you’re a liberal but I’m for and against things on both sides. Why is that a bad thing?

I grew up in Eastern Kentucky and I can honestly say that a lot of people there don't want to do better, regardless of how much money is pumped into the region. I only made it out because of education but a lot just want their beer, cigarettes and welfare checks. I'm not trying to slam anyone because as being from there I would like to see them do better but the system has engrained a lot of dependence on the Government in them.I know a lot of people from there that are retired and only depend upon their SS check to make ends meet.

I only made it out because of education but a lot just want their beer, cigarettes and welfare checks. I'm not trying to slam anyone because as being from there I would like to see them do better but the system has engrained a lot of dependence on the Government in them.I know a lot of people from there that are retired and only depend upon their SS check to make ends meet.

I'm a registered Democrat, though I haven't voted that way in a decade or longer. They left me behind years ago. Back when their most pressing issues were if a guy could legally marry another guy.
