The ones who say "stick to sports" I bet would have a totally different opinion if Matt was a Republican.

I don't let politics affect my life in any way. I listen to KSR. I wear Nike. I eat Chick-fil-A. Live your life. Who cares about if someone is a Republic or Democrat. You are getting too worked up over something that hardly impacts your life.

I wouldn’t. My hope for KSR was to escape, for two hours, from hearing politics for two hours a day and just hear Kentucky basketball and then making fun of Louisville/Indiana/etc.

He was provided an unique opportunity to unite Kentucky fans for TWO hours a day...Jusf TWO!!! Think of an escape where you didn’t have to hear politics for just two hours. How awesome would that have been

I quit listening because of not only politics, but I also found him to be an arrogant, self centered a-hole.

I like Matt Jones. He built a small empire around his fanhood. I wish I had his job. Woth that said, dude has been “thinking bout runnin” for like 2 years. Man, just decide already. I don’t think about any decision this much. And honestly, if you can’t jump in head first and it takes you two years of flip flopping to decide than you probably shouldn’t do it.
I very seriously doubt he will ever make that jump. His ego can’t handle losing and McConnell would beat him as badly as he did Lundergan-Grimes, if not worse.

I just dont get the hate for matt jones. His show is pretty entertaining. I hope he keeps doing it. I listen to ksr and have a subscription here. It's the best of both worlds. I wish him nothing but the best
Personally I don’t dislike Matt...I just don’t go to him for politics. It’s his platform and he can do what he chooses with it, but I just choose not to listen anymore. Those guys are pretty funny, and I enjoy listening to them talk about UK sports. I also think Matt is pretty connected and gets good info. I stopped going to the site around the time that Beisner left, then Matt and Drew pretty much stopped posting. Not a fan of Tyler Thompson at all and I don’t even know who else posts over there other than Pilgrim. But like I said...it’s his gig and he can do what he wants with it, it’s just not for me anymore

Fox News online is reporting that Matt has been taken off the air by iHeart Radio as a result of a KY GOP complaint to the FEC about numerous campaign contributions that Matt has received but not reported.

Eh let’s not talk politics on HOB move it to the paddock. Love you guys but I’ve talked enough about this to last me a life time.

Does that mean you talked about it for ten seconds?

Don't you wish you had those ten seconds back?

It is awesome. Honestly it would be hard to talk uk sports for the whole show. Also callers dictate where the show goes sometimes. I listen everyday and politics is discussed 3-5 minutes a show. If something big is happening he may talk 10 minutes. Variety is what makes it interesting.

KSR is very entertaining . The King narcissist beating down on his crew and any caller is funny stuff. What makes it more hilarious is that he sells that he's a great guy, like he is trying to convince himself. It's entertainment! I hope he doesn't run because I think that would ruin his show and McConnell will go all out to make his character look even worse than it is .

And so very very very bitchy. The bitchiness went up a few more notches after the national Dems made clear they didn’t want him. That’s when I had to quit listening. I used to really like the show but his attitude got to be terrible with all the crybaby whining and impersonating people who disagree with him as slack jawed yokels.

And he isn’t going to run. That’s the dumb thing. His ego has caused him to lose his television show and get kicked off his radio show for a bit, all because the DSCC hurt his feelings. He was never going to run, but he wanted to be coveted and wasn’t. Now he finally has the national notoriety and recognition he has been seeking. He’ll walk away happy.

i'm confused what political views y'all don't agree with? Im not saying i agree with what he says but he hasn't even begun his campaign or decided on what topics he will run on. All i've heard is him disagree with Mitch and say that he wants to help eastern Kentucky. Sound like a bunch of uneducated voters to me.:cool2: Obviously he has permanent residence in y'alls head if he has you posting about him.

looking forward to these replies.
That’s part of the issue. He does a lot of bitching without providing any solutions

Matt needs to either poop or get off the pot.
Not sure we need such indecision in positions of leadership.

It's kind of like what I heard a comedian say one time about Bill Clinton. He said he knew he couldn't trust Clinton because he used to drive an El Camino. He said, "if you can't decide between a Chevy Malibu and a Pick-up truck, then you have no business being in charge of the free world!"

Run or don't run Matt, but do it quickly. Flip a coin. Make a call. You can do it!

I’ll say this, if he wants to talk politics keep it separate. Wants to do a sports show then keep it a sports show. I don’t agree with his politics, but I’m sure 1/2 this board probably doesn’t agree with me on mine, but I come here 4 sports not politics just as I do here. He needs to separate the two. McConnell forced him to do that with that decision with the FCC or one of his cohorts. You want to dabble you likely to get burned by the big boys

The amount of irony on this thread is laughable. When you come into a thread that you know what it's going to be about, post your opinion, then complain about the thread and ask it to be moved and then post about it 3 more times, you sir are a clown. Matt has a show and can say whatever he wants on it, it's his show. You don't have to listen, no one is making you. So complaining about what he talks about on his show is on you and no one else. Everybody knew what this thread would be and came in here to fukn cry about it anyways. 95% of you contribute 0 to this board and post 100 times a day just to satiate yourself, because you think people on here care what you think. And if you think I'm talking about you, I am.

This dude is mad. Maybe this “Nick” is actually from KSR and paid for his account. What a noble gesture.

As far as Matt is concerned..tease the bull and you get the horns. MJ flailing around like a little ***** victim and the game is just getting started. Dude has slandered MM for years and doesn’t like when they start to punch back. He may as well be a member of Antifa.

No, I'm honestly not mad at all. I'm legit tired of every thread being turned into the same thing constantly, by the same people. It's pathetic. I couldn't care less what MJ does, but some people NEED you to know what they want a grown man to do with his life because it affects their consumption of talk radio because they don't agree with him. It's 2019 in a nutshell.

Am I in the minority that never listens to his radio show and really doesn’t give a **** one way or the other?
Right there with ya. I really don’t give a damn. I like this board and our community. Everything else is just meh....

Matt just doesn’t move the needle for me (especially his politics). And as I get older less and less does. Actually, I like it that way.

I just avoid/eliminate people from my life who piss me off and distract my thoughts from my goals.

Life is too short for needless negativity and pain.

Unless Mitch actually wants MJ to get in, this was a really bad miscalculation.

the rest of this thread is just the same rehash of "I hate Matt Jones" silliness. We get it already.

The law applies to announced candidates, when did Jones announce his candidacy?
https://docquery.fec.gov/cgi-bin/forms/S0KY00370/1351362/

September 10. He didn’t even need to file this but he probably got bad advice because it’s hoodie boy amateur hour.

I really doubt iHeart would have taken him off the air if they didn’t have real concerns. These media companies have armies of lawyers because being threatened with legal action is a daily occurrence for them.

I agree he has made a small empire, but not around his fanhood. I'm being serious here. He is a rich boy from Eastern KY who (by some who knew him growing up) always was a little better than everyone else - in his mind anyway. He went to dUKe law school to help an aspiring desire to run for public office. He lucked into a time when the internet was starting to boom and coincidently the University of Kentucky basketball was in a state of funk.

I'll give you the guy was smart but I really don't think his "fanhood" is what he tries to proclaim. He talks about how he can't watch the end of a close game, etc. because he gets so wrapped up in it. He talks about not liking other programs, but none as much as UofL which is where he is located. First the BBN reaches the entire state and he plays up to the hate of the Cards like a KY fan, but he is also trolling Louisville fans who listen to his show because they want to call in and tell him what a piece of garbage he is. Both of those drive his ratings, thus making him MONEY. Which is what he really loves.

He does get inside info at times, but it's usually info that the program(s) want leaked but can't do themselves. I guarantee (well I really can't) that there are many more ideas hard UK fans on this site than he is.

That being said, I enjoy him during the season but man all he does is repeat what the coaches say as his analysis. Off season shows..........brutal at times.

Jones knows he isn’t running but he needs the attention and publicity to sell his pointless book. I love how he wants to toot his own horn about being the righteous candidate of the people, but all he is doing is using his political presence to enrich himself, just like every politician.

Jones doesn’t have the temperament to run for public office. If you’ve ever listened to his show, you know he’s quick to cut off anybody who doesn’t agree with him. His rants are legendary. I’ve always thought he’d be better off running for governor than the senate (hell if Bevin can win once anything is possible) but that’s another story. There is no way he will allow himself to be criticized publicly and then be able to defend himself. When you believe you are never wrong it’s hard to believe you can be open minded about anything. The US Senate is not the place to begin your political career especially when you are running against the most powerful senator in the country. UK wouldn’t hire a basketball coach without any experience just as the people of KY will not elect a first time candidate to the senate, especially a democrat.
