Like I said in my post that you quoted, I was not going to watch any basketball games when it was announced that Calipari was coming back. I was tired of having top recruits that couldn't shoot, losing games we shouldn't lose, hearing Cal's excuses and then having to hear about him making a "tweak" and then us losing in the 1st round.

This the definition of a fair weather fan

If getting tired of getting kicked in the balls over and over is a fair weather fan, then so be it. I guess you think all the fans that stopped going to the football games during Jokers last game were fair weather fans. Maybe they should have been like you and continued to pack the stadium and then we could have had a few more years of Joker. If all fans were like you we would be in even worse shape than we are now. Like the old saying goes: "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result." I would rather be a fair weather fan than insane.

I think 90% of the board has a negative opinion of Stoops and should be able to express it.
That's fine and that's probably accurate. But there is a big diffference in having a negative opinion on the coach and wanted to DROP FOOTBALL. Anyone who says that is either a troll or is too stupid to participate in any conversation. In either case, he should be aborted from the public square.

I don't think the OP means it. I think he is just frustrated with the state of the program like a lot of us are.

In most of the 20th century it wasn't very good either.
Yep. The first real threat to Rupp was Ray Mears in 1962 at UT. He went 12-12 head to head with Rupp. Other than that, the SEC was a rec league. UKs domination of the league says more about the league than UK.

Ronnie Milsap can see that .

SEC has always been about football. Back in the day they had Assistant football Coaches coach the Basketball teams.

And what does UK's domination in the NCAA tourney say about the rest of the NCAA?????

Rather than allow this abortion to keep happening, let’s drop football and focus on the other sports. I hope Tennessee wins 84-21
Rather than losing to Georgetown College, you know Georgetown, Ky, maybe they should drop basketball. I hope they lose to McNicholls St. 😂🎉😂👋

Football makes most of the money for an athletic department. Football just needs a new coach.
We just need to resign ourselves to losing in football, become one of those teams' other teams pay to come play them in the first couple of games of the season and make more money.

Yeah, that's not happening, and shouldn't.
While I do agree with you that it isn't happening although it would be a better fit. However, I wouldn't like it though. The SEC is a much better football league and in recent years has come on in basketball so... no.

No.
Why so you can get a false sense of joy...this current team cant compete in that league either except their bottom feeders.

It's not a better fit anyway, we're a founding SEC member and the acc isnt even good at basketball anymore outside of a couple teams
I believe he was thinking in terms of basketball (historically) and how we would win more football games there because of how weak the conference is. Although as stated in an earlier post, I don't want to move, just find a way to win more games in football.

And UK has not been about football. Once we started dominating in basketball it seems the admin was good with that. Still getting money from football and getting good money from basketball.
