That’s my big beef. Very similar to Tennessee and Louisville several years back. If you are allowed to bump and slap, you are going to cause turnovers. If the refs won’t step up and call them, we are in trouble because teams are going to turn it over when there is that much contact.
At the worst possible time. When your lead is down to 6 or 7, bonehead turnover leads to an easy bucket, immediately fires up an early contested 3 for a brick resulting in a run out. Just ridiculous

Roll with Aberdeen, Williams, Chandler, oweh, and either Mo or garrison and all for guys not with the ball better be moving their asses to open spots on the floor and be in constant motion looking for back cuts and open 3’s. Pope you stupid *** MF learn what the AF you are doing.
It’s sickening how many Kentucky fans are OK with the direction of the program.

What pissed me off more than anything to end the half was this.
We were up 3 with 59 seconds left and a chance to get a 2 for 1.
Somehow you turn it over twice and get a 0 for 2 and they get 1 FT make and a 3 pointer to end the half.
A chance to extend a 3 point lead with a 2 for 1 and you actually lose the lead.
That is just as bad as it gets to end the half.

I'm the first to blame Pope but I really don't see how Pope is the issue. The only thing is him subbing bad but he quit doing that. And not calling a timeout sooner when they went on a run. Other than that, we can't really blame him unless we keep turning the ball over after half. If he makes adjustments and we don't turn the ball over then we are good to go. Y'all think Iowa State is just off on threes? No, this is the best we have defended the three ball all year.
Even lowe would struggle today with hands on approach the refs are allowing them to employ every trip down the floor.

He looks like **** honestly. He is extra pale, looks sick most of the time. He isn’t cut out for big time coaching. Why would he want to live like this.
Chandler panics, pick up ball, throws to Aberdeen in a terrible position and immediately runs into Aberdeen's driving lane.

Cal was cool for 90% of his time here. Even when he was losing, he had a confidence.Their shorts wouldn't fit because they'd have no @$$ left to hold them up.

They were the type of men you wanted to be around and be seen with in public.
Pope is the opposite. He's embarrassing. When I talk to friends who cheer for other programs, it seems like I'm always making excuses for Pope, explaining him to them the same way you would explain a lame step parent to a friend who's about to come over for the day.
Both can and are absolutely true. We know we're not great. But that sure as **** doesn't mean refs get to blatantly control games. I'm done with it.
Exactly. Both things can be true. I wont cry about the refs if they call the game straight up. If you are going to call the fouls that are being called on us, and called that same level of contact a foul on ISU, they would have 20 fouls easy. And not calling the tech was huge
The 18-18 rebounding is a bit misleading tho.
They have 7 offensive boards. We have 2. That's 5 more additional possessions right there.

Biggest play of the half-Kentucky up 30-23 , Iowa St. misses shot, soft serve Moraino went after rebound weakly, gave away the board and a three point shot. Instead of possibly being up 9 or 10, Iowa St. closed the half on a 8-0 run.

I'm pretty sure Iowa St gets the ball to start the 2nd half. We had the possession until they called the jump ball on the Oweh drive.
We had a chance to be up double digits because Iowa St wasn’t playing their best basketball but Pope couldn’t capitalize on it because of his horrendous substitutions!!! Killed all momentum!!!!!

The best thing about finally taking off my back brace permanently, and getting up out of the wheelchair in '15, after spending the previous 7 years glued to it, it felt like the hardest part was behind me, is kinda best summed up like this :
we're down 31 - 30 at half with the Cyclones getting 2/3rds of thier points at the effin' free throw line and seeing as how we somehow started off strong enough to survive the inevitable point shaving, I feel pretty good about it.

This has been the biggest difference between this year and last year IMO. Pope had Amari last year, along with Carr, and they could pass out of the traps.
Did you guys really think we were going to blow this team out after the hot start? Every game is going to be a grind. It is what it is. We have no point guard, our best shooter can only hit when wide-open, the big men aren't particularly skilled and our bench is short. I'm honestly not sure at this point if we could blow out EKU.
A stretch 4 and a couple shooters will be must-haves in the offseason. This offense is painful to watch at times.

15 FT's to our 3 FT can't be real especially considering they are pressuring us all over court.
