I don’t care who you are, you can’t lose to Iowa state by 20 something in the 2nd round of the NCAAS and keep you job very long at Kentucky. Their best player was out and we couldn’t even bring the ball the court and get into our offense. The refs sucked but we sucked worse with no adjustments to be made.
Pope should NEVER have allowed that kind of mindset to hang around. Any coach serious about performing at an elite level would have ripped that crap down.
Terrible loss, but show the proof of a $22M roster. I'll wait.
While the refs suck, the second half was on the coaching staff. I am done with Pope. I hope the team moves on.

If I was the AD, I would have a list of about 20 things that need to change and somewhere in there, would be Pope's soft personality and his lack of grit on the sidelines.

Yes the refs sucked. But the team and coaching is bad. A good coach and good team has an opportunity to overcome bad refs. This team cannot.
This is a a really good IS team - in this tourny, almost anything can happen. Some days it’s just not your day.

Yeah, I don't take anything away from Iowa State, I have enjoyed watching them this year. I said it before - Otzelberger would kill it here if he were coach at UK. I've seen quite a few Iowa State games this year, I like them. Good luck to them.
