I'm still relatively new to posting and I was born in '89. Aside from Laettner's miracle so many years ago, we haven't played them much. Why are they so obsessed with the Duke program? They have a SIX page thread over there on the Duke/UVA game. Every time I visit that site it seems like there are several threads on the first page about Duke. What gives?

As for 2015.. that was on them! They should have beat Wisconsin... why the sour grapes with us?! Notre Dame should have beat them in the Elite 8 until Mike Brey decided to **** the bed in the last four minutes.
I agree 100%... I remember walking into the Champions Classic and argueing with random KY fans bout 2015. They still claim they were the Best, and our Championship didn't count... sorry cats
It'll take 100 years--if then--for Kentucky fans to get over the Laettner shot. It's way more painful to them than the "Kentucky's Shame" cover, the 2015 team that lost in the Final Four... anything involving their basketball team, really.

UK fans are what they are. It's amazing to me how many non Duke fan bases keep up with us. To be honest I don't go to RR to see what they have to say about Duke. I just don't care. Terected are other fan bases other than UK and unc cheater u that some how just has to pop in here when they feel real cocky. I do admit keeping up with unc cheater u and would lurk at thr from time to time but since I've been tombstoned I don't go there. Too me it's a badge of honor that so many non Duke fans seem to be so obsessed with Duke and Coach K. OFC
The jury is still out on uk for me. Their 10 game win streak comes from below average to average teams. Duke would beat the heck out of uk’s last ten opponents!
I lived in Lexington for 2 years and Louisville for about 4. I had gotten a Duke license plate on the front of my car, it got ripped off within about 2 weeks of getting it.
It happened it Louisville, but I know it was a UK fan that did it.
The funniest thing I find is that they legitimately think the NCAA is partnered with Duke to ensure we always good calls and easy tournament brackets...they truly think this happens.

I told a story in here before about a lady who had a Duke license plate and someone slashed all 4 of her tires and left a note that she should have known better.....that's some low down, sorry stuff. Without realizing the NCAA has given them more titles than Duke. They hate that they got caught cheating and were punished so the NCAA hates their cheating asses, for cheating.
A lot of the Kentucky fans that lurk on Rupp Rafters are of a different (in)breed. Their schtick is a curious cocktail, combining a sense of entitlement with a victim complex and some good ole’ tinfoil hat-wearing conspiracy theories.
Having said that, you can sum up Kentucky’s hatred for Duke with one great pass and one great shot. That shot gets played every single year. Imagine that. Losing a game like that and having to be reminded of it literally every year after. That’s a knife to the gut that will never, ever go away. And yeah... I kinda enjoy the schadenfreude of knowing that the collective consciousness of Big Blue Nation will never be allowed to forget that shot.

It’s always baffled me that Duke is the most hated team when u have three teams like Kansas, uk, and the holes. The holes cheated for years, and got away with it. uk has a coach that has been caught twice with his hands in the cookie jar and their fan base thinks they are entitled to everything and act like petulant children when they think another team is better than them and thinks the NCAA is always out to get them and it’s always the refs fault. Went as far as to leave death threats to referees for crying out loud. Now looking at Kansas, they have had multiple players time after time with domestic issues, and Bill Self showed what a liar he is over the summer being directly implicated in the college basketball corruption case. With all of that somehow we are the most hated team. Success brings jealousy!!
They have 6 pages on the game and they have 15x more members on their board than here. It is just a BIG board. They take their UK basketball way more seriously than I take Duke basketball and I take Duke basketball seriously.
QC, I just spent about 5 min over there and the 3 threads I looked through just amazed me with their stupidity. I have never seen so many dumbasses gathered in one spot in all my life. The things they come up with is something you may here from a person that has no knowledge of basketball or what's going on around them.

I think the biggest part of the obsession is Laettner. The shot and the stomp. It's been a while since both and they just have a hard time getting over it. There is probably no footage of what happened before the stomp but I believe Laettner was getting some grabs and holds all night. If it gets into UK nations heads that's great. OFC

Many people, sports fan bases included it seems, hate things they cannot control, Things that have hurt them badly in the past, people that have taken things away from them and things they hold dear which they lost control of. If you will notice they seem to hate other basketball teams that have defeated them in the past. Number 1 seems to be Duke, then Louisville, then UNC, Kansas, UCLA and finally Indiana. They can't take anyone besting them in basketball because they think they are the King of the court and very best team ever. If they can't beat you they just make things up to convince themselves they are superior. To analyze and think that way is the trait of a simple minded fan base. They are more jealous than even UNCheats and they are such a large fan base it makes them overwhelmingly stupid as a large group.

Man, that was a scary *** team though. I did NOT want to play them again. Farrell, Vasturia, Jackson, Grant, Beachem, Colson, Connaughton, Auguste... every single one of those guys could play. They matched up so well with us.

That’s rich given some of their fans defended former Kentucky basketball player Michael Porter after he was arrested for raping a child.
UK fans can be some very very cruel people so it’s funny to read that comment. Weren’t they the ones that sent death threats to a referee and wrote bad reviews about his business?
