He done to atleast March 1st.. that's if he's incredibly lucky and everything goes right and it feels right and there ain't no problems. And it was a minor fracture.

It's probably something he's had going on for a minute inside his foot and it just took a while for it to show itself.
X-rays and stuff just to check yourself out every once awhile aint a bad idea if you're an athlete.
He probably couldve prevented this by shutting down for a while if he had some preventative x-ray knowledge.

I cracked my heel couple years ago. Hurt me for 18 months straight everyday. Month 13 throu 16 were the worst. Then out of the blue one day the heel just started healing up. After two more months, pain by pushing in on my heel disappeared. Walking pain subsided.
Its just decided it was time lol. It took a long *** time to heal and stop hurting me. A year, some months, and a few weeks. Walked through it. Had no choice.
I feel for anybody with foot pain that hurts everyday. I learned it sucks BAD

Prayers to krisa though, I hope he gets to play a couple of more games in his college career
If he were to be out rest of season, he's eligible for a medical hardship waiver. You can play in 30% or fewer of the team's games, and he's played in 9 of 31 regular season games - 29%. I do hope we see him again this year but foot fractures are nothing to rush.

I think the team is going to need good extended minutes from Perry now (4-6 straight minutes a half). I'm just doubtful that Robinson as the backup PG is best. I know Robinson, or even Oweh, can (and probably will have to) play some PG for UK, but again I believe things will work best with everybody staying in their role to this point with Butler having to play more minutes and Perry taking up most of the remaining PG minutes.

I hope he gets that, but odds are they try to get him back by February

I had a Jones Fracture couple years ago. Requires a screw implant to make sure the bone grows back. 3-6 weeks is just not realistic at all. Probably two months before he can even start to go through a full practice and he will have obviously lost alot of conditioning during the down time. Would not surprise me at all if he's done for the year.

I’m wishing we could have had a full season of J. Vanderbilt, he had a legit foot injury and it took around 1 1/2 years to finally recover. Prayers for a full recovery regardless of the time frame, have to do what is right for him.

Assuming Butler returns soon, I think the move is to keep trying Robinson as the back up PG and increase Chandler's minutes to give these guys a breather: Butler, Otega, Robison, and Brea.

Other than Butler, those guys are fairly similar in size and ability. Chandler is a definite downgrade but he allows Pope to use Jax as the backup PG without losing too much defensively. I don't think Perry has the size or stature yet to compete night in and night out at this level. I hope I'm wrong, but I think he's at least a year away. (Which is what we knew when he signed here.)

This should translate into more minutes for Brea and some Cameron Mills esque time for Perry.

Whoops! I forgot Chandler. He may get a few/90% of the minutes I projected for Perry

That’s a big hit to one of our best weapons…Depth. Now Foul trouble to Jax, Oweh, or Butler (God forbid 2 simultaneously) hurts a lot more. Need Chandler to come along quick or Perry to show he’s ready to contribute with the physicality and bring energy and pace instead of timidness

Hate to say it. But I don't think Kerr will be able to contribute again this season. From what I've seen Chandler is the best bet to back up Butler.

At this point NOBODY knows how long he will be out. He’s young and tough as nails. Jeff Shepperd had a high ankle sprain that almost took his foot off and he came back a few days later and led us to the NC. Several of Triple C’s players got ingrown hairs and stayed out until draft day. Obviously Kerr is hurt and needs this surgery but not even the doctors know how long he’ll be out yet. I just hope and pray he gets well soon. GBB.

I lean towards this approach. Jaxon can't play all the minutes and we need him and Oweh and Butler on the court together as much as possible.

I feel for him. But let’s be honest, this will allow Kentucky to use both Butker and Jackson at the point… this gives us our best team. Nothing against Kerr. But he was probably our 9th beat player. We now have a solid 8 man rotation

Could actually be a positive development for the long run.

A Jones Fracture is in no way comparable to what Sheppard had. And the timeline for recovery on those is farily well established.

Dammit, I thought the “Jones” injury was an autocorrect first time I read it today, that sucks! He was busting his butt for the name on the front of the jersey and you can tell he wants to win. Something we haven’t had around here in years. Even injured he ran down best he could to try to prevent a bucket when he got hurt. Speedy recovery player, you’ll be missed.

I’m sad he will miss the Louisville game. Was hoping he could bait a player into punching him lol.

Hopefully he’s able to make it back and be available come February. He’s caught a lot of flak around here—he certainly has flaws, but his passing ability and ball handling are nice to have in our second unit.

In a scenario where it doesn’t make much sense for him to try coming back in the middle of the SEC warpath, he’s still in the window where he could shut it down and be approved for a medshirt.

Doug Shows and co. are already frothing at the mouth at the idea of pinning Lamont Butler in foul trouble against an aggressive, pressing defense.
Thats fine we will put Robinson at PG.
Our guard depth is still insane:
Butler
Robinson
Oweh
Brea

We good.

When I think UK Basketball and broken foot I think about Kent Hollenbeck breaking his foot, it being set and healed and breaking again and again and again. He would have gone down as one of the best guards ever to play at UK. Hope and pray that does not happen to Kerr.
