Most underrated how important this kid is to our team. He’s not one of our top 5 best players, but he is one of the top 3 most important players on this team. Why? He brings in abundance

confidence
swagger
No fear
Joy

know one else brings this at the level he does and he rubs off on others.

Plus he’s a good passer and facilitator of the offense.

We will really improve when he returns.

He is vitally important to this team. Anyone who says we came back against Gonzaga without him didn’t watch the game. The bulk of the comeback happened with him on the floor. Any conference wins we can manage without him are a huge bonus.

Is there something going on where it's questionable that he even returns for the season. Pope said something about not knowing when or if he will be back. Anyone know anything else about that?

Good post kid plays with a fire, take no **** attitude that many of the other players need to badly.

Agree he brings the fun to this team. He's the jokester emotion guy. If he would be allowed to red shirt with injury I likely rather have him next year backing up Lewis .

Next year we got real athletes coming in should be Lewis, Oweh/Chandler, Wilson, Jasper, Garrison ( Moreno, Krissa, Chandler/Oweh, Noah. .................Travis) . Likely add a portal pg and big. I think Chsndler might be tempted to go to BYU though.

I was watching the ksr postgame and they mentioned that Popes commented on Kerr with an if or when he returns. I don't have a link but hopefully someone else heard it. Go watch the ksr postgame on YouTube.

He is like the little brother who starts some crap with an older kid that forces his big brother to fight to defend him even if he really isn't motivated to fight.

Additional comment: If this is what it takes to wake this team up, I can't wait until he is able to instigate some more good trouble.

Did we get Wilson officially?

He keeps our energy up, and our alertness. He rubs off on everyone. Huge part of the team.

We wont peek until he's back and acclimated ……. Which means we could peek late in the campaign …..😳
This is it for me. He is Mr. Instant energy when he comes on the floor. He does some things wrong and misses some shots but the positive outweigh the negatives when he is on the floor. Sure hope he can come back and play well this season yet.

What Pope had said was 'when and if'...a broken bone in the foot is tricky to heal. No way to rehab the torque a foot gets when a person pushes off or a basketball player tries to cut.

Just hope the best for the guy as far as his playing career goes.

I had the same injury and I hope I’m wrong, I just don’t see a way he comes back without being in a lot of pain. He will have way better medical care than I got but they are also probably going to try to speed the process up

While I like the OP's optimism. Uh...NO he is definitely NOT one of the 3 most important players on this team.
The top 5 (you can debate the order) are CLEARLY Oweh, Butler, Carr, Williams, Brea.
If you want to say KK is 6th, ok; although Robinson, Garrison and maybe even Almonor some could argue are ahead of him.

I imagine he has gotten better care than you or I would get. But regardless, a foot injury is not one that he can go out and do anything with. Maybe he can shoot FT's, even that is a maybe.
So, he will not be in game shape, and his skills will be rusty. Which he was only shooting 28% and 26% anyway, so maybe he needed the RESET button pushed.

He was in a boot on Saturday.

But I agree with the original post and said something similar in the Colgate game thread. I think perhaps he brings an intangible to this team that's not just about playing basketball, but might be more about inspiration or motivation or a push to his teammates.

Get well soon Kerr ! Everyone misses you and knows you are an indispensable piece of this team. Love that energy and hustle !

Stay strong, get healthy !

PS - I'm not sure why I get this feeling, but you bring that energy that the unforgettables had. Can't wait to have you back on the floor with the team !

Go Big Blue !

I would be for letting him sit rest of year and play next year. But if he's ready now then great

He's close it seems. Shouldn't need him tonight. We probably could use him for Alabama, but i also don't want to rush it.

Well Matt Jones has suggested he may not play at all again this regular season, so I'm optimistic he'll back soon. If he's ready to go by early to mid-February that would be absolutely FANTASTIC. This team is gonna be pretty damn good in March.

He is much more important to the team than I first thought. Saw him on the sidelines last game cheering his team on and I wondered if he might be ready.
