The old salaries are meaningless.
No matter the salary (new or old contract), Barnes is not a Max contract guy.
The old salaries are meaningless.
Horrible comparisons. All those teams added old, washed up players. The Warriors just added a guy who is only two years removed from winning an MVP to a 73 win team.Everyone thought this would lead to a title...

It took a year for Wade, James, & Bosh to win one.
That Warriors lineup does look good on paper though.

Again - yes the Rockets were old.
That 04 Lakers team Shaq and Kobe was were not old.
When the Lakers added Howard and Nash - Howard was not old.

How did that work out?
Again my point was the hype that all those teams received. It wasn't until after the fact that you can look back and see the flaws.
As has been pointed out on here, scoring was not a problem for Golden State. What they really need is a rim protector.
The shooting display next year will be s wondrous thing.
It didn't work out because Nash sucked and couldn't even stay healthy. How do you not understand how this is different?Again - yes the Rockets were old.

Barnes "could" be better outside of GS. He wasn't the focus nor selfish. So needing a SF to go with that team he works......have you see these other contracts yet?
Take a look!
and Cleveland GM Lebron is trying to get his buddy D. Wade to join the crew. yet another driver to the paint against the nonexistent GS interior defense.Who is stopping Lebron/Kyrie at going to the rim? I'll take layups/FTs all day over the fun of watching those three jack it up all game.
Nobody thinks that because Harrison Effing Barnes makes more money currently than Steph Curry that the NBA values him more.
It is a weird time for salaries because of the new collective bargaining agreement. But, seriously, thank you for making the same ponderous point about six different times now. We all appreciate it.
This. For the first time in a long time, I want to see this team on the court. Also, Durant is not just going to jack up 3 pointers. He's not just going to jump shoot. He's ridiculously talented in all facets of offense. He will be able to drive and kick out to open shooters very often, which will result in the defense not being able to collapse like they did with OKC, letting him drive and dunk. Offensively GS will be absolutely ridiculous next year.

Because part of the reason the Warriors lost was Barnes missing tons of wide open 3s and being a general liability on offense. The Cavs basically sold out on guarding Klay and Steph and decided to make Barnes and Draymond have to beat them. Replace Barnes with Durant in the Finals and the Warriors win.
Does that mean they win it this year? Of course not, but Durant brings so much more to the table than Barnes

I think a lot of people do not understand just how underrated Durant is defensively. He disrupts passing lanes and can guard multiple positions with his height, long arms, and athleticism.
love whoever it was on twitter who called GS the new Death Star....so deadly & unstoppable at first glance, but horrible interior defense that ultimately lead to its downfall.
Well ****, I would say Lebron owns just about every team he plays. That Michael Jordan guy owned the Knicks when he played them.
Look I thought it was a ***** move by KD, but if you do not think it will make Golden State a better team with him, then I do not know what to say. As bad as I dislike Lebron, I hope like hell they beat GS if they meet next year. In all honesty, I hope neither make it out of the first round.
The 2 time MVP, first unanimous MVP selection, player who led his team to the best regular season record ever and is the greatest shooter of all time should probably tone down his poor shot selection.
Exactly. People talking about Durant not getting shots, this or that. I would say if not every GM, 90% of them will tell you, Durant is a better player than Curry (even with Curry being 2 time MVP). With Durant on the roster, maybe Super Steph will tone down the bad shot selection and stupid hot dog turn overs. What people fail to talk about is a big reason for the Warrior near collapse against OKC and the loss in the finals, had a lot to do with Curry committing careless to's.
All those 3s and a runner-up trophy. Congrats.
Seems more like an overlapping of talent rather than addressing a key need. If the only thing you accomplish is somebody else scoring a similar percentage by taking shots away from another player who scored similarly then what have you really addressed?

thought the NBA owners had a lockout 4 years ago to prevent this players GMing teams & creating their own supergroups and "touching take our league back"?
Durant is at least as good a defender as Barnes, if not better. Offensively, he's light-years ahead. Not sure why anyone thinks adding Durant hurts their defense. Plus, he's at least a couple of inches taller and a better rebounder. Not a rim-protector, I grant you, but still at least a slight upgrade on the defensive side of the ball. If they find someone or a couple of someones to just play interior D and grab some boards, GS will be a juggernaut (again).

someone explain to me why adding Durant to jack up the same outside jump shots that Curry/Thompson/Green did that could NOT beat the Cavs is going to work 11 months from now?
You could argue Siva for 4 over Wall for one, but Siva for 4 over Wall, then Knight, then Teague, and then Ryan Harrow, it's no contest. That's 3 good years of Siva vs. 3 great years.Yup. It is basically the same stupid argument Louisville fans brought out with John Wall. "Wudya rather have one year with John Wall or four years with Peyton Siva?"
I'll take one or two years with Kevin Durant as my small forward over four years of overpaying Harrison Barnes, thank you very much.
