..for anybody who faces them in the NCAA tournament."

I actually like Jimmy Dykes, but a damn 13 seed seemed to match up with Vandy pretty well.

for Vandy's second round opponent, given the short time to prepare. I guess you can fault him for "assuming" vandy would skate on #13. But he was talking about the second round matchup, not the first round matchup.

It's the same thing the talking heads have been pointing out about Syracuse. Their second round opponent is going to have a hard time getting ready for their zone. Of course, the cuse is going to be a load in any round in my opinion.

Stallings has 2 wins in the NIT Tournament to Stansbury's6. Stansbury has a better overall record and a MUCH betterSEC record than Stallings. Stallings has no SEC East titles,No SEC Overall titles, and no SEC Tourney titles. Stansbury has an SEC Overall and two SEC Tourney titles, and multiple divisional titles.

Sweet 16 > or = SEC title

Sweet 16 2x> SEC Tourney title

Anything you do nationally is better than anything you do in conference

There's a reason Stands doesn't get voted COY by his peers or the media...and it's not because he coaches at State

didn't get voted COY by his peers. He obviously deserved it morein 2004than manySEC COYbefore or since. Those other SEC coaches back then just didn't like him and some were probably jealous.

isn't all that impressive. Fact is, Stans has as many NCAA wins as Stallings does, more NCAA appearances, and more NIT wins.

I alsoSTRONGLY disagree that a Sweet 16 outweighs what we've done. We've won more consistently in league play than Vandy, been to the NCAA's more times, won a conference overall title which is a huge deal, and have far outperformed them in the SECT. We've also got a winning record head to head vs them, which is what anyone would point to were this football.

That's the same thing as saying we're a better program than them if we consistently got to the SECT semis and they always got put out on Friday even if they averaged 3 more wins per year in conference. They've won one more game in the NCAA's, in years where we were actually better than they were. Whether you admit it or not, we have actually been unlucky in NCAA tourney play. Just b/c we haven't done it doesn't mean we CAN'T. Hell, we were in a one possession game a shot away from beating Memphis who was probably one of the top 4 teams in college basketball the last 10 years, we beat Xavier by more than 10 the same year they beat us in the tourney, were one possession away from beating Butler, and didn't we beat George Mason the year they went to the Final 4? We've proven we can play w/ top teams, we just haven't gotten over the hump at the right time</p>

Vandy might have a Commodore43 poster, who's wife once slept with Stallings, who just absolutely hates all things Stallings sees the two first round exits, no SEC titles, and a good opportunity to pounce and convince other anti-Stallings sheep like OEMdore, Dore@bama, Snakewater99 to start a grass roots "I hate Stallings movement" to force him out.

I have seen similiar things happen before thats for sure.
