Had suspended a few guys for their 1st game- La Tech game moved to October- so now the suspension is lifted and the guys will play in their 1st game vs Florida

Good coaches will use this as an excuse for losing a game or two they shouldn't. He obviously felt he could win that game. He will suspend them against their doormat guaranteed now.

He is a good coach and is doing well recruiting the Houston and surrounding areas, A&M will be very good in two years. they have tons of money and support

I understand the Aggies are pissed about the postponement. And they should be. There's a 30% chance of rain in Shreveport for Saturday (and only a 60% chance for Friday). I would have told LA Tech we're playing this weekend or we're not playing. And good luck trying to get any cash out of us for breaking a contract because we were ready and willing to play the weekend the game was scheduled.

They were scheduled to play Thursday. And if I was A&M I would have been OK with postponing that till Saturday. But not later. A&M now has to play 12 games in 12 weeks, and they just lost their open date before LSU as well as their warmup game before Florida.

Completely agree with you here. 100%. Can't believe A&M allowed this call to be made.

Heck, play it Sunday if you have to. There are several CFB games already on the schedule for Sunday and even one on Monday. Scheduling dates are easy prior to the NFL regular season kickoff.

Sunday games: Kentucky/Louisville and SMU/Baylor
Monday: Va Tech/Georgia Tech

Did anyone else have a feeling Tech was going to beat them? A&M is without its QB from last year and they are missing several other key ayers from their team last year. I felt like Tech would probably pull the upset here

Southern Miss disagrees. He's a joke and I don't think they will be competitive in the SEC until they get rid of him. We'll see what happens.

I know I'm in the minority as well, but I thought the move made them more likely to win another game (LaTech). With a new QB, new defense, new offense.... I seriously think LaTech could've beat them tonight. I don't think they were going to be UF or LSU anyways... so moving the game allows them to work out the kinks before LaTech.

I can hear the explanation

"I told them they were suspended for the La Tech game and damn it they won't play that one!"

Not impressed with Sumlin

Fedora coached rings around him last year. Check out Sumlin's reactions and that of the fans.

Not all that impressed with him either. When he has a great QB in a no-defense league, he does pretty well. That won't be the case in the SEC.

You could be right about that. Still don't like 12 games in 12 weeks though. That's going to be one beat up team by the end of the season.

A&M (and Texas) have done pretty good every year in Recruiting. When you have the state of Texas to recruit, you are going to have players. A&M just put several players into the NFL, including a 1st round QB. Talent pool has not been the issue at A&M or Texas. And while Sumlin won a lot of games at Houston, his defense hasn't ever impressed me. In fact, he's put some of the worst defenses on the field I've ever seen. And that high flying offense crap is real fun until you have 6 turnovers against LSU and down 36 points....and you're time of possession is less than 4 minutes for the first half. It's going to be fun to watch.

I liked Mike Sherman. I thought he caught a lot of bad breaks.

For what its worth, here's a letter he sent out to all HS coaches in Texas after he got fired.
