The last Oklahoma offensive coordinator to get a head coaching position was Chuck Long at San Diego State. That didn't work out too well. Now, I'm not saying Wilson would be a clone of Chuck Long or that Oklahoma offensive coordinators are unfit to coach at the Division 1 level. After all, Long's predecessor, Mark Mangino, has done remarkably well at Kansas as of late. But I worry about these top assistants who have thrived at places like Oklahoma and Texas where the talent has always been plentiful.
