First off, let me say that ole miss will be emotional next week. Starting out, anyway. We are the more balanced and better conditioned team, by far. Ole miss has more big play ability on both sides of the ball. They have a hard time sustaining laboring drives.. Certainly not as much. So with that said, here are my keys to the game:

1. We cannot turn the ball over. Period. Give ole miss only earned opportunities.

2. Key on Wallace. Stay in his face, but we cannot concede position up front. Make him beat us with his arm, under pressure.

3. Play with them. They WILL score points. Leave ourselves in position to win the game in the 4th. We can bank on them being drained emotionally and physically late in the game.

4. Sustain drives. Protect Russell, and use our check downs. Also, use our power running game. Rotate backs, but do not forget about Perkins' ability to catch the ball. I will say again, control the pace of the game with our offensive balance.

5. Limit yards after the catch. Moncrief gives ole miss a lot of big play ability. Play a tight zone on him and take him away while doing everything we can to disrupt Wallace's ability to throw. Disruption of timed throws will be our best bet in slowing them down.

6. Do not get discouraged if we get down early. Work hard to get back in the game. They will wear out late.

7. Win the game at all costs. I want that trophy in Starkville.

Put Slay AND Broomfield on Moncrief. Make Wallace beat man coverage to someone other than Moncrief.

Agree to that completely.

Moncrief makes the rest of their receivers good. Take him completely away if possible, if not, keep him from gaining yards after the catch. Ole Miss THRIVES on big plays to him. That is really their offense.
