Are we talking real kids or overseas by-blows? My USAmerican kids get $25/week.

Overseas by-blows (mainly in East and Southeast Asia) are lucky to get a new half-brother/-sister every year or two.

$50 every 2 weeks, but I also charge them tax, rent, food, and any doctors visits that are a result of their own stupidity. They generally pocket $5-$10 per paycheck. If they choose to put it in a the 'bank' instead of their pockets I will match their contribution. Bank money cannot be withdrawn until the age of 16 without penalty.

Do they help you put a parking meter on the roof for Christmas Eve?

I allow them to eat and have a roof over their head. If they don't do their chores they go hungry.
I don’t have kids, but this would be what I would’ve told them.

I didn’t know what an allowance meant when I was growing up.

$20.00 a week if she meets a few standards.

1. Must help mother whenever ask on chores (no whining).
2. Must keep grades above 90 (keeps above 95 so far)
3. No negative reports from school period.

She is well over $1000.00 right now. Funny thing is, when we go shopping and it is not her Birthday, Christmas, or any other holiday requiring gifts and she wants something she must buy it. She limits her spending to no more than $30.00 dollars for an item. Very frugal with her money.

Dont have kids, but when I was young, as long as I kept my grades up and wasn't an *** I could get $10 a week. Alternatively, if I waited a month or so I could get a video game. I think they were $50 at the time. I thought that was a good way to encourage a child to save for something.
