Not even the smallest leak that LSU is even glancing at someone else. He's gone. Or... He may stay and LSU managed to back-channel things so well that nobody knows they've talked to other candidates. Or... He may stay and LSU will be up a creek without a paddle.

I'm hoping it's the first one.
There’s not much hint of UF looking elsewhere either, though. They are both clearly waiting out his decision.

I’m sticking by the theory that nobody knows anything…except Kiffin himself.

He leaves but coaches OM through the play-offs. OM names their new coach in the interim and keep on truckin .

ETA: While we continue to sit around with our thumb up our ___ wondering what to do next.
Exactly. This is the obvious answer. Nobody has been able to come up with a reason yet why he would not be able to coach them in the CFP….unless he just doesn’t want to.

he ain't going anywhere. this is nothing but a huge troll job and him playing OM to get his last big contract, and they're dumb enough to go bankrupt paying him. their promises to him aren't sustainable long term, and they'll be expecting a playoff every year, and will be ready to string him up if he doesn't produce one, after making him the highest paid HC in the country. he will have burnt bridges with LSU, UF, Alabama, Auburn, and Tennessee. That pretty much leaves him at OM without much leverage for an additional big payday.

If he stays, no reputable school will ever take him serious again and he will not get looks in the future. For a guy like Kiffin, that would be crushing.

When the Sharks take the field tomorrow I expect Kiffin to have a new hoodie that says “Staying at the ‘Sip”. Then the team will run through a brick wall. (I would make a picture but I am a technically challenged)

Yeah if your wife was going out with other men and then, suddenly she shows up with a shirt that says “staying with you,” I’m not sure the reaction would be, “I’ll run through a brick wall for you.”

I think he stays. Carter loves the controversy and wants to extend it as long as possible. This way, all eyes are on Ole Miss and they relish in the attention. And once he’s stay, Carter can pump up the Rebs as a coaching destination school.

Loves the attention... I've been told that, think about it, because of the attention, they are being viewed as an inferior program.
We can't buy that kind of publicity. Hell yeah!

Complete agree - this sounds like typical OM manufactured drama that has had every media talking a ton about Ole Miss.

the trend this year has been to stay - Cignetti, Drink, Rhule - I think coaches are getting paid so much now that stability is really increasing in value.

He seems happy there, they worship him there and he’s been a playoff quality team 2 years in a row now. Would you trade that for Baton Rouge especially with the administrative mess they have right now?

Poor webbles, best coach in their fb history doesn’t wanna stay, best season in modern day fb season, still won’t end up in ATL, will schedule stay soft for next season? Prolly another reason w/Lame’s gone, he’d have to win w/the harder schedules in future seasons.
