I hate to admit he speaks the truth. Mississippi teams are not allowed to have SEC night games.

The last time we had a night SEC game was November 23, 2023, against Ole Miss.

In comparison LSU last 6 home SEC games have been at night.

That said, we are due, I predict Texas will be a night game.

I was just looking at SEC games. Did not think to look at all games. Wow they have 83% evening games overall, compared to our 42% since 2022.

In fairness to LSU, day games early in the football season when it is hot have the potential to be fan safety issues. I couldn’t imagine being in Tiger Stadium for a 11 am kickoff in early September. People would be passing out in the stands. Most night games there early in the season are too hot too.

It's nationwide viewership. We are too small for primetime. Adding Texas and Oklahoma made our situation worse.
Yup....I said the day UTA and OK were added that all it did was push MSU down the SEC pecking order by 2 spots.

Do you really think 11 AM in StarkVegas is much different than 11 AM temperature wise or humidity wise in Baton Rouge?
I’ve spent a lot of time in both MS and S Louisiana and blind fold me and drop me off in either in August or September and I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.

The SEC is too large. The big names bring in the most money and get priority.
It’s really not about that. The SEC wants big games spread out through the day and not going head to head with each other. TV networks don’t put value on night games the way fans do, which is why big noon kickoff has such huge matchups every week. Big 10 fans hate that too, but it’s about money and having big games not playing at the same time. UMASS / MIZ and Kentucky / USC aren’t bigger tv draws than our game this weekend but ESPN didn’t want any major game going up against Bama/UGA so they put those 2 matchups at night and the lsu/om and our game at 2:30. You are just as likely to get a night game if you suck as if you don’t suck and just as likely to get one if you are big or small market. Outside of LSU, who has made it some sort of nostalgic tradition and marketed them being magical at night which has made the networks like to put them on at night because I assume they feel as if it boosts ratings with that “mystique” and all that sh*t. I totally agree that LSU gets a disproportionate amount of night games and although tv controls it the sec should try to at least mention it to the networks because it’s bs.

Now do 11 o clock games. I bet we have the most of anyone the last couple years. This year has helped the numbers but man I felt recently the first of the year they were all 11 o clock summer heat

Only way we get home night games is if we playing one of the big boys.

our market is just to small to justify putting us in primetime without a big name against us.

helps to be ranked as well....

There was a lot of talk this summer about how the early games are getting better ratings than the night games. If you have listened to Hadad and Borkey on the radio each week this year, that has again held true...the ratings for the 11/12 are better than midafternoon and midafternoon is better than night games. Maybe why we are starting to see more quality games at the noon time slot.

Exactly TV has 3 time slots to fill. They’re going to put their 3 best games 1 in each time slot. Then their next 3 go 1 in each time slot. Then the rest. So you’re more likely to play during the day than at night. It was just skewed in the SEC for so long because ESPN put their best Big 10 in the early time slot & CBS had the 2nd one exclusively, so must SEC games were at night.
