Sounds like he is moving on to LSU but is trying to make demands he coach Ole Miss in the playoffs. If I'm Ole Miss, I'd be telling him no way. Guy loves attention. Ole Miss was willing to match the offer. I think he'll regret this later. LSU has much bigger expectations than Ole Miss.

I wonder if he regrets this too.

I still think this isn't about salary, but about NIL budget. If LSU has that much more than Ole Miss, I wouldnt want to face him.

I don't see any way his overall quality of life will be better with a $12m salary in Baton Rouge vs an $8.5m salary in Oxford (although apparently Ole Miss matched LSU's offer), but he may very well win a national title in LSU and I doubt that happens at Ole Miss. I just hate the way all this drama played out. I half expected ESPN to have a show like "The Decision" they did with Lebron some years back.

I get the sentiment, but the problem is that it's just not Kiffin leaving, he will be taking assistants with him as well.

He'd stay here for 1 or 2 years then leave. I have no desire for him to come here.
True. He loves the spotlight. Remember when he had to have all that security when leaving UT's sports complex after one season and taking the Southern Cal job.

Louisiana is a poorer state than South Carolina. It's probably richer than Mississippi though. I guess it's sort of like North Carolina giving in to Belichick's demands to get him. Louisiana is giving Kiffin whatever he asks for.

I hope Ole Miss stands its ground and not let him coach in the playoffs, And I hope Kiffin fails at LSU. I don't think he will. But maybe he will fall short of their expectations.

This Kiffin fiasco got me thinking about players… when will a team in the CF playoffs demand more money or they won’t play …. I believe it’s coming sooner than you think

I don’t understand why he would leave besides NIL budget factors. LSU will spit him out if he doesn’t do well in a few years and he’ll take a worse job. He already has Ole Miss competing National with a shot at a National championship this year. Plus, Ole Miss is a nice school, it’s not like he’s at Rutgers or something.
