people arent getting their usual tickets & such.

i have a lot of friends who went/go to AU & chizik is the absolute last guy anyone expected.
i doubt the national media wouldnt buried AU if they'd hired a "big name".
since the fan base & alumni have basically started a garbage fire outside the president's mansion over this, the national media takes & runs with it.

The problem with Chizik is he was 5-19 at Iowa State. That will get your *** fire at most places, instead Auburn hired him over a successful AA coach. At least with the coaches you mentioned, there is a history of success to base the hire on.
head coaching experience. sure at buffalo in the MAC. but buffalo was a perrennial 1-10 & 2-9 homecoming invitee for years before he got there. could/can Gill coach in the SEC? i dont know.

These sports reporters don't have much else to talk about during this time of year. There will NOT be billions of dollars lost at Auburn (probably not even a cent), just like there will not be a single african-american kid that looks the other way in recruiting because Auburn passed over a black guy. The typical media wishes it were so, but it simply isn't. Now there may be a few recruits that look the other way because Chizik is a dud, but it won't be because of the color of his skin. JMO</p>
UT didn`t interview a black candidate and they`re getting waaaay less flack than a school who did interview one. Bet if the Aubbies had this to do all over they would never have talked Gill . Nice job media .
Everyone is acting like AU interviewed Gill and then did not offer. I thought I read earlier that Gill decided he didn't want the job because his wife is white, and he didn't want to take a chance she wouldn't be accepted. It makes a lot of difference how it went.
