Kind of lost in the Clemson win...

Anyone shocked Clemson rolled out with 6 seconds to go, down 3? The clock had one second left after the completion and it makes you wonder if that "egregious" last second would have elapsed if the receiver somehow dropped that.

No. A quick slant or something to try to save a second or two if it missed isn't really any better. If ball gets tipped in the air, game over, and there are sure to be a lot of bodies around the ball and hitting the receiver if you try to hit something over the middle. And throwing to someone out of the pocket would have taken the extra second for the ball to get there anyway. I think once they decided to run the play, they knew it was win or bust on that play. Otherwise, they would have just kicked the FG.

It was poor clock management by Dabo prior to all that, it was like they had already conceded they were just going to try to kick the field-goal and tie it.
We were talking about the same thing. 2 TO's and 54 seconds. The just kept letting the clock run.
