Anyone heard any chatter on our next person we land? I doubt we're done right?

Just seems like it's been really silent the last couple of days. I'm sure the holiday plays in, but it seems like it's been a couple of days since we got a boom.

This is the type of quiet that we usually get right before something big.

Usually, when chatter gets loud, it doesn't bode as well for us.

Hoping the staff is doing some under the radar stuff right now.

Pope flew to NYC/NJ and then California in back to back days on Thursday/Friday and nobody knows exactly why.

Fingers are crossed!

My wishlist, in order:

1. Chad Baker-Mazara
2. Dame Sarr
3. Jamir Watkins
4. Baby Peja
5. Rylen Griffen
6. One of those other Euro guards we heard about last week

It's probably a beehive closer to the heart of UKMBB decision-making, however.

Don't think we got used.

Think he was genuinely ours until Indiana upped the offer to nearly $3 Million and offered his AAU coach a spot on the staff.

Obviously we aren't desperate enough to do that type of nonsense.

Feels like IU went all in just for the optics and headlines of beating Kentucky for a recruit.

Think we'll end up with a better player in that spot now anyways.

To each his own but if we get Chad Baker-Mazara I’ll just pull for the rifle team. He’s about 30 years old and acts like a spoiled toddler. I honestly don’t think Mark Pope would touch that lunatic with a ten foot pole.

I really hope we get Mazara for 2 reasons.
1) He's a star player and is capable of taking over games against anyone.
2) I don't want Louisville to add him to what is a very good roster already.

None of the other players still available can hurt us as much as CBM can if he goes to a competitor.

With Pope, quiet is good.

He’ll probably get someone really good just out of nowhere. Someone we haven’t even been mentioned with.

Or maybe not.

Since this board has probably mentioned every single wing in the portal as a potential “last piece” that no matter who Pope gets, someone will resurrect a thread from a few weeks back and say, “see how smart I am, I said this was a possibility last month” or “I told y’all he was the guy.”

When every SG/SF in the portal is discussed, someone is guaranteed to be right about the one we get. LOL!

I feel like the Utah Jazz owner Frank Layden did about Dennis Rodman when talking about CBM. I’d rather lose than have him on my team, his antics are to watch and they take away from what you are trying to accomplish. He is good but he doesn’t seem like a player Pope would want.JMHO.

Pope knows what he’s doing, or he wouldn’t have initiated contact! And that’s, you take a CBM every day of the week, and twice on Sunday, and not blink an eye!

He’s a mediocre player who thinks he’s a star. He averaged 12 pts a game at 25 years old. If UL wants him more power to em. Don’t want him anywhere near this program.

I hoping that’s good, usually when recruitments are quite the staff pulls one off out of nowhere. I hope out of nowhere we wake up like Tuesday or Wednesday to a Boom that nobody expects, Ian Jackson, Haggerty, or Watkins commits to UK!

We lost our very first target, the sdsu big man, the same way. So getting outbid wasnt something new.

Jmo but we are still searching for value, which means it wont be a big name unless they're giving us a discount.
