Say Croom is forced out (which I still believe won't happen). Will he throw MSU under the bus nationally by saying things such as:

"MSU fans' expectations are way too high for a program that has been a perrenial loser for decades." "When I was at Alabama, we always looked at the MSU game like a bye week."

"They expected me to come in and win after I told them it would take time." "Good luck to the next coach trying to satisfy that fan base. They act like they're Alabama, LSU, or Florida. I'll enjoy watching another coach try to recruit for a school that has a hard time winning more than 3 games a year for a decade. chuckle chuckle. It ain't easy and almost impossible to get anyone to play for you."

"I was not given the time to ressurect a program that was in complete shambles. If Given a few more years, they would have found out what winning championships was all about." "MSU will never be a above the cellar in the SEC."

Guess it's a buy/sell.

I say buy. I believe that his ego will take over, and he really believes all of the above.

they will see his 21-38 record (projected) and a 1.7 million dollar salary and realize they cant do any worse than Crooms did and get paid for 5 years...

We will win this battle and the best thing is to get rid of this albatross now

I do believe he's a good guy and all but he is just in over his head as a head coach. If he did that, he would come off more of a douche than us. Some of the media would buy into it but most would look at his record and say "it's time." We'll get a thirty second mention during bowl week as they discuss job openings at Tennessee, Washington, Auburn, etc. We are low their totem pole.

I just don't know if he would start talking about the other schools like that. I do believe he would throw our fans under the bus as much as he could though. I also believe he will inadvertently throw the players under the bus while at the same time talking about how much better men they are because of him.

It would be so much better if he would go silently but we are likely to see something on a lesser scale but similar to Polk.

Who really gives a **** what he'd say or do. The simple fact is no coach in MSU history has won less than Sly Crxxm. It's a tough place to win at, but every coach we've ever had has won more than Crxxm has. One look at his record and no one is going to question our firing him.

with a condescending tone towards fans leads me to believe otherwise. we apparantly know absolutely nothing about football and he knows everything. him being fired because the fans are mad at his performance would likely set him off. if he hadn't done stuff like this in the past I would have sold this buy/sell big time.

but i can understand where you are coming from...the problem is i don't think he is as nice a fella as he is made out to be.

I agree as far as making it a solid sell but with the rumors that he's nearly quit two times tells me he's exhausted with the whole situation. When it does go down, I sorta see it as a Tommy Bowden/Clemson parting. Both will agree it's time to move in a different direction and will thank the other for the opportunity. And though Croom wouldn't have a problem getting an NFL coaching job, it would look real crappy of him to throw State under the bus to future employers.

to every member of the media, opposing fan bases, and any other dumbass that complains about replacing him:

"Every school in the NCAA deserves to win more than 4.2 games a season over a 5 year period. If those expectations are too high, then we should just disband the program"
