Wouldn't it be great if Kobe were to come play for us? How would we find a spot for him on the team? Interesting, but a useless discussion because it will never happen.
All you people who keep talking about Renardo Sidney should realize that the chances of him ever playing ball for State are about the same as Kobe Bryant playing here. We need to move on. He will not get certified. Period.

Sidney's lawyer may have a case in court for this, but it will not change anything about this season, this fleeting period of time when it behooves Sidney to play college ball. Time to move on. He'll be in Europe or the NBA by the time this thing settles out. And it will not settle out with a free-and-clear NCAA amateur certification for Sidney.

Even IF Sidney's lawyer files suit AND the case gets reviewed speedily AND the NCAA decision to decertify Sidney is stayed, then Byrne/Stansbury have to decide on whether or not to play him against the will of the NCAA and incur future scrutiny. Not a good choice IMO.

So, I know the simple answer for me is to quit opening useless speculative threads about Sidney, but folks need to put all of this in perspective and move on.

his transcript from 9th grade? It isn't like they will send us to Dallas as a high seed only to put UT as our 2nd round game giving them home court advantage.

...and people don't understand that nothing good can come of this now. Jackson is withholding the records for one of two reasons: 1) There is something to hide, or 2) He is worried about setting a precedent. If it's 2), he is not doing what is in the best interest of the kid, which is to get him eligible. So I think that the bank statements and tax records probably show what they don't want shown.

And as far as court goes, we do not want that choice, as you say. If the NCAA says don't play him and the court says we can, and we do play him, they will find a way to get us, and it could easily be more than game forfeiture.

the NCAA picks and chooses who they put under the microscope. We have enough problems with this without setting precedent as the vanguard program who used a court injunction to play a player against NCAA wishes. That said, I'd be really surprised if this thing goes to court and a ruling comes down in time to salvage getting Sidney eligible this season. And after that, he has no reason to continue the masquerade of being a student-athlete. He'll be drafted.

WTF??? Wouldn't it also be cool if I could jump off a mountain and just start flying or something?
