that Stans makes someone on the team his personal whipping boy and *****. apparently Augustus is working for an unprecedented repeat of the position.

he better not transfer. if he does, our depth in the paint will be even thinner and worse than it is now. Brian Johnson will be out at the end of this season, and that would leave Jarvis, Osby, Bailey, and Augustus as our only scholarship big men.

and unless Stans somehow manages to convince Renardo to come to MSU instead of a large school/large market or Europe, there are no talented big men left for him to go after.

If Augustus bolts, thatll essentially leave 3 post men on the team for next season.

Lack of defense??

Osby only played 8 mins, but he did get in some foul trouble..

It could be true about practice, classes, whatever....I can't say that it isn't because I am not there. But what I do know is Stans et al. raved about Kodi all throughout the summer and I watched him specifically during the first few games and he came out more cut than last year (sorry for the Backer/Bruiser comment), with D intensity, ability to shoot probably better than anyone on the team, and non-selfish passing. Then we see his minutes decline, we play a few better teams that crowd the lane and take away Jarvis' ability to score. What we are lacking at this point is an offensive strategy. Insert former coach Croom's dumbfounded comments about intensity or execution, except use a hoarse voice start every sentence with "Well Jack,....." and blame youth and inexperience. The similarities are striking. ADJUST.

This offense doesn't work unless there is one guy standing in the middle with his hand raised asking for the ball. Jarvis is the guy this year I guess. So be it. Lets see how well that works when we play some SEC teams with solid big guys. A couple of these scrub teams had big players that shut him down already. And also know that even if Jarvis scores 25 every game, then once we get past Ravern we rely upon Randy and Riley and Phil's outside shooting. Good luck with that. I see a very inconsistent future for us beating a couple good teams and losing more than we should.

If I were Kodi Augustus, I would transfer too. He and Osby are screwed. Those guys look to get used about like Arceto Clark did this year.

I honestly think Coach Stans could correct these problems, but he has to go back and look at film or something to figure out the appropriate spacing/movement with two big guys in the lane at once. Go study the film with Branden Vincent? It kind of worked last year with Rhodes too, but Rhodes was a much better on-ball defender and was unconscious shooting. I think Augustus could bring that shooting-wise? Who knows.</p>
