Does KT go to LSU and make State look stupid? Can we/ should we keep him from transferring to another SEC school? Or does he even transfer?

KT doesn’t have the ability to go anywhere and make us look stupid. He’s not a great player. At best he’d go somewhere and be serviceable to decent. Maybe even good in the sun belt or conference USA.

He was in the team meeting with Leach. If he’s leaving - wouldn’t he be in the portal already?

You guys are crazy. Who here knows KT couldn't be the guy? No one. All that guy has done is won games. I still say, if he played in place of Fitz in 2018, we would have won the same amount of games, except we beat UF and beat Iowa. And we would have been in better position this past season.

All that dude has done is won games.

New coach with no ties to any of the qbs. Perhaps he is playing through the spring to see what happens and to see if he gets a fair shake. We all new Tommy was starting when he came here. He may be sticking it out to finish classes and go as a grad transfer. Or he may be thinking about making a switch in position. KT is too talented of a football player to not be on the field. He has SEC football player talent.

Worry isn't the thing it's just curiosity. Would KT not be better/ same as a lot of those other dudes they've had for the past 15-20 years?

You telling me a kid that's only heard from Nichols and McNeese about transferring could be the LSU's starting QB the next two years?

He’s won one game. The Gator Bowl two years ago. I believe he’s only started one other game in his career and that was against Stephen F. Austin where he completed about 40% of his passes. Some of our fans have built KT up to be a super QB based on one bowl game win. The total body of work says otherwise. If he wants to play QB, he’ll have to transfer down a level. Otherwise, learn how to catch and run routes.

After having watched a few of Mike Leach's interviews where he talks about what he looks for in a QB I don't think KT is going to work out. I expect that he'll get a fair shot but a ~40% completion rate lifetime isn't going to work in Leach's offense. He may surprise us all and show improvement but I would expect that he moves to WR if he can catch the ball.

You mention “whole body of work” in your post, but then point out the lone negative stat(42% completion) from his game against Austin? So the 350 yds passing, 7 total TDs, and 100 yds rushing are irrelevant?

I get that Stephen F Austin is a team that we should blow out, but some of y’all are way too hung up on the completion % thing. Let me ask this... would you rather have a QB that completes 65% of his passes at 4 yds/pass or one that completes 50% at 10 yds/pass? Option B is gonna win a lot more games, but the point is... not all completion percentages are treated equally. It all depends on how a team is designed to move a ball downfield

Now all that said, I agree that I don’t think KT exactly fits this offense, but I do think the kid can play. At the least, we certainly don’t know that he can’t

Might as well write him off then - he looked like crap that one time Moorhead randomly put him at WR after he'd played QB for two years. We've got such a deep group of great WRs anyway***

I actually thought he looked good on the short catch & run in the egg bowl. He can probably do more after the catch than anyone else we have.

Probably not LSU but up until burrow he would be one of the better prospects they would have gotten in last several years.

Some of y'all act like he absolutely sucks. Dude was a good dual threat qb he really hasn't had much a chance to get on the field the past two years under Moorhead. I don't think he is an elite passer but he is service given the right coaching.

Same thing with Mayden. I think both of those guys will get a fair shake in camp.

I don't see how anyone trust Moorhead's evaluations of our player talent. He didn't even know what he had for two years. He turned over our qb room for 6-7.

I'm wanting to see how leach evaluates our guys. Minshew was very average at ecu under poor coaching and evaluation. Having watched a lot of film on tech a qb with elusiveness would come in handy with the rush we have in sec. statues won't fair well. Ball out quick and a qb that can extend the play will do well.

Or, if he can almost catch it, he should be a starter.

At the same time, our fans think the guy couldn't get any better with more playing time? I am telling you, the kid can play. He is an athlete, and given the opportunity he could get comfortable and get going.

For real. I get that the kid wants to play QB, and I think that there are teams out there that he can help win games by playing the position. However, he's got the physical tools to help an SEC team(hopefully us) win games if he'd make the move to WR. It wouldn't even surprise me for him to find himself on draft boards if things went well

I haven't heard even the slightest rumor that he'd consider a change, but who knows...

He needs to get confidence. Starting two games which he put up a lot of offense and won both is nothing that tells me he sucks. His only other time to play as qb was last year in a role where he came in for three plays in a bad spot but a lot of our fan base has written him off. He may not turn out but I really don't think the fan base has seen him play enough to really write him off. Lot of fans may have written dak off after seeing him in the same amount of snaps as a true freshmen and sophomore. Y'all forget he played well enough to win a bowl game as freshmen and outshined Lamar Jackson. Yes I know that was facing a sirmon defense. Kid has talent to be a flex player in a high powered offense. He can throw and can run and can catch the flats and maybe more with more training. Too many have written him off with a Very small sample size.

A lot of people come up with stupid ideas our of curiosity. Most are smart enough to not share their thoughts.

Schrader will be the starter. He smart and quick. Just what Leach is looking for.

I think Schrader has a chance to shine in Leach's offense. Possibility he might redshirt this fall if Leach brings in a good transfer, but if not he'll be the starter this fall.

He's also shown a questionable work ethic and poor decision making off the field, which is a big deal to Leach. Hopefully he grows up fast, because I do think he has some skills and toughness on the field.
